durability of gucci fabric

Hi! I have previously owned LV bags but am considering purchasing a Gucci Abbey tote as I think it's more subtle than the LV mono. canvas. I fabric looks much softer to me. I was wondering if it is durable or if it wears/rips easily.

I have had no problems with the Gucci fabric, no rips, tears or stains either! I feels it is a bit soft, but durable!

It's very durable. The only fabric one I have was bought from a reseller and it still looks new. If you do a search there was a thread on this.

I agree the canvas is very durable... Every once in a while I baby wipe all my canvas bags down so they are dust free (generally when I rotate).

Also, you may want to conside something in the 'DRing' range. They are very similar bags to the abbey and I hear will evetually replace the abbey family.

the fabric is pretty durable, only thing with mine is that it frayed in the corners of my jolicoeur, but that seems to only really be a problem with that line

I also should mention mine has gotten wet numerous times, I also once had mold on the fabric, and rum and coke spilled on it. Cleaned it both times (scrubbed in the case of the mold) and the fabric still looks new.

I have the same problem with the fabric fraying a little bit on sharp corners of my bag, but overall it's durable. I got some strange black marks on the fabric before, and I just used gentle soap and water and the stain came off.

Mine also is fraying a bit in the corners but I use that bag almost every day and I put through the ringer.

i have the biba and there's fraying on the bottom parts of the fabric where it's folded

I have owned Gucci fabric for years and years and all my bags are worn all the time - and have lasted. No issues with any. I also take them into the Gucci store periodically to send them out for dry cleaning. They look new when they come back.

I think they are easier to deal with than the LV canvas ones I have.

The only problems I've had with Gucci fabric are the corners...fabric corners do not last at least in my case. I always make sure all purchases have some sort of leather on corners (either leather corners or leather lining on the corners). My horsebit all fabric wore thin within the 1st couple of months. My SA put corners free of charge.

Definite fraying on the corners. After like 5 years of major use though. Gucci fabric is amazing!! It is so durable it is unreal. And the leather, priceless!! Not a fan of LV in general, sorry.

And yes... what's this, corners put in on old bags?? Happen to be going to Gucci tomorrow and will definitely be asking my SA about this. Thanks for the tip!!
