Durability of black sateen?

A few months ago, I went to my local outlet and they had several Kristin Pleated satchels, including the black sateen, putty patent and black patent. I played with them for a while but decided to leave them behind. Well, I've regretted that day ever since. LOL. Today, I went to the outlet and found one Kristin Pleated satchel in the black sateen. It was the only one they had. This is the first non-leather Coach bags that I've purchased, and it is one of the most expensive ones. The SA mentioned to me that I have to be more careful with it than my leather bags, which has made me nervous. Do I really have to baby this bag? For those who own a bag or two in the black sateen, have you had issues with durability? I really like this bag but plan to use it as an everyday bag (which is why, tbh, I liked the sateen because it seemed more casual than the leather in this style). I really can't afford to keep it if it's not something I can safely use everyday. TIA for your help.

My black sateen Carly still looks great too. I think the only thing you have to be a little careful of is snagging. But, I haven't even had that happen to mine. (....knock on wood.....)

I have a sateen (multi colour scarf print mmf soho). It is almost 2 years old and looks pretty good still. It does have 2 small (about 5-10 mm in lenght) snags in it. I am pretty sure they were from my dd's shoe velcro catching on it. The bag is a crossbody style and falls directly in line with my little ones shoes while I am holding her. I do not baby my bags in the slightest and am impressed with how well it has held up. It also cleans easy with baby wipes. I was worried that the snags would run and get larger or cause threads to pull, but they haven't at all.

I have a black sateen Brooke that I purchased when the Brooke first came out.....she still looks BRAND new. I used her through an ENTIRE winter of snow/ice/etc and she never showed wear or tear! I LOVE the black sateen b/c you really cant see the C's...they dont "scream" out at you!

My black/black sig sateen groovy still looks shiny and new! I am sure it depends on how much you use the bag and how much wear and tear it gets. But I am very pleased at how tough and resilient it's been.

I have a signature sateen Ali hobo that I toss around like it's my job (mostly because it's a hobo shape and so sometimes I forget that the sateen is delicate) BUT it only has one small-ish snag that you can't even see unless you're looking for it.

It was purchased about a year and a half ago at a FP store, btw, and I have never once regretted the money spent because it has been SURPRISINGLY durable.

I have a green satin Hamptons Weekend from 05?06? and it looks great, maybe not as "bright" as it used to be, but most of the stains that it had were cleaned off with soap and water gently.
