The stone im showing is a good example of the crystal growing in quartz, the stone is clear, the crystals are growing in a star-burst way with a slight blue color. In this way, a rare find for this material, the size is 10x10x7mm, 2.9cts, in a trillion cut. This will make a nice & unique pendent. This material is usually found as a lapis stone, opaque with good color, the clear material with the blue crystals is the hard find-steve...

In short, I dont think so. Usually the dumortierite is seen in the form of lapis stones, opaque blue, violet, white or red. The crystals are usually in the smaller quartz config, but if there is a large piece of rough, the possibility is there. Im told the Chinese have a good supply of material as this & the best is said to come from Brazil.-:hrmm::cool:

This is an update to the post, the stones are now in pendent, @ 1.5" tall, 14kt white gold, the slight blue in the crystals do show well & this makes an interesting package to see-steve...
