My SA said that the plisse will be flat after dry cleaning. Does anyone know of a dry cleaner or anywhere to send a plisse to be cleaned and retain the pleats? It's not an issue yet, but just thinking ahead. Thanks!

If it was a scarf that I owned, I would just try to spot it with dry cleaning spray. I don't think it will ever be the same if you try to have it cleaned. The beauty of this style is that even it you have a spot, it probably won't even show when it is tied. If you are looking at a preowned one and the spots are obvious, don't buy it.

I'm thinking more about just cleaning it overall from wearing it around my neck. Maybe have to have it dry cleaned and then re-pleated? It's new, fresh from H, but, well, gotta obsess about something, right?

Maybe this isn't the style for you and you should stick with flat. Were you planning to dig ditches and sweat while wearing this? Or is it only makeup you are afraid of? Pass either way if this will be an issue for you. It will never be the same after cleaning.

They can "re-plisée" the scarves at Hermès. My SA said that in case after several dry-cleanings that the scarf gets more straight, I should bring it to the store and she can send it to Paris to have the plisée re-done. I don't know how they do it in the USA or Asia though.

Did the SA happen to mention the cost? I'll bet it is at least 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a new one. If that is the case, I would just wear it the way it is, tie it around a hatband for example and buy a new one.

My gut feeling is that it will never be "as new" something will suffer whether it is the colors, fabric or pleating. IMO I don't think I would be happy.

I think it's about $50-60 but I am going to call my SA tomorrrow to check.

Thanks LaVan! It sounds like cleaning a plisse is quite an undertaking.

Rose, Please update us after you talk to your SA.

Gracekelly, thanks for your advice. I just got a plisse and love it so much--promise not to dig ditches w/it!

Has anyone ever had their plisse cleaned? How did it fare?

I asked my SA this question a while ago and he said that if I wanted it cleaned, do not attempt to bring it to a drycleaner myself, rather, bring it into the store and they'll send it to Paris. Bottom line, try not to soil your plisse unless you don't mind missing it for several months, lol!

Howdy, HG, I was hoping you'd have the scoop! $23 is a relative bargain compare to having to re-plisse the scarf and wait months. So, it will come back clean and pleated as before?
