Dream Bag

I bought my dream bag (Chanel maxi flap) and it just didn't work. I travel for work and I need a big bag. I prefer arm carrying to shoulder carrying. I sold her to a better home and someone who carries her daily. Expensive mistake for me

That's my fear because I want a classic jumbo which is not cheap. If it was a less expensive bag this wouldn't be a problem. The challenges of having expensive taste I suppose.

I bought a Louis Vuitton SO Damier Ebene Bucket bag. I wanted this bag so badly for many years. When I finally owned it I was thrilled. Unfortunately, using it was a pain. The bag is so narrow and deep it was hard to get things in and out of there. The pockets were small and useless; I could really only fit my phone. And because it was treated leather, it pained my shoulder after wearing it for an extended period of time.

Luckily I was able to sell it for a little more than the amount I paid, but it made me sad and still kinda makes me sad. I love that bag, but it's just too expensive to just have it in my home just to look at it.

I've only ever bought bags that make my heart sing. I never choose them for functionality, however the bags I like the most are usually on the medium to large side so I haven't had a problem with things not fitting in them.

No.
But my challenge has been passing on others' dream bags.
Or what advert hype tells me I should want.

So, I come to terms with being less impressive.
But more authentic me.

I think I am suffering from the same problem. I mean these bags are beautiful and I wouldn't mind owning them but are they the best bag for me.

Not really. For a bag to get to "dream bag" status it has to both be something I LOVE and that functions well for me.

From a lifestyle standpoint, the only bags that don't "work" for me are micro and mini bags. And I don't like the look of teeny bags on me (I'm slim but I'm 5'8") So luckily there isn't ever an issue with me loving bags that don't work for me. Or maybe...unluckily?

But. Is made me think. I bought my HG (?) at the beginning of this year. And even it wasn't a "dream" bag. It's just a bag I wanted a great deal and knew I'd have some difficulty finding. So, I don't know what bag would be so amazing that it would be a dream bag. Hmmmm...thinking.

All. The. Time. There are many handheld only bags (LV Speedy) that I love, but I know that I like the option of a shoulder strap. I also like the look of hobo bags and saddle bags on others, but find them to be hippie dippy/bohemian at times which is not my style.

The bag, however, that pulls at my heartstrings is the Lady Dior. I want that bag so bad, but the opening is just not functional for me.
