Can someone direct me to the right spot? I just purchased this vintage bi-color Noe and it will be an upcoming gift for my daughter. The drawstring is literally hanging on by a thread, as you can see. I can take it to my leather guy and see what he’ll charge. My guess is that he’ll cut it, open up the two sides, overlap them, glue down and then re-stitch, but there will likely be a tiny bump where they meet. My other thought was that I could run a small piece of interfacing into the “tunnel” created by the fold over of the leather when they make the drawstring, if you follow. One side glued in/dry; second side glued in/dried and a touch of leather glue and paint where they meet to disguise it. Anyone have experience with a broken drawstring and a fix (guessing plain replacement here!) LV will charge $100 for a new drawstring and I don’t want to go that route, the bag was not super expensive. Or maybe the friction of the drawstring will cause it to fall apart anyway. Other than that, the bag is in great shape for a vintage bag! Just wondering about opinions, thanks!
