We're moving in a new to us home with lots of kitchen cabinets. In the past when I lived in rentals I used to get that sticky shelf liner. I get the feeling that's not used so much anymore. They do sell it at walmart and you can also get that tan stuff that comes on a roll and you just lay down. To tell the truth with so many cabinets I'm feeling it will be a chore to do the sticky stuff and expensive to do the rolls. If the house was new and had never been lived in, I'd just skip it.

Maybe I could do the cabs that will have our dishes and jar goods and leave the ones for pots/pans, canned goods alone.

Is the drawer lining thing a throwback?

I use the stuff that lays down, kind of soft like foam, in my dish and glass cabinets. I find it prevents glassware from chipping. Also in my cutlery drawers to keep stuff from sliding around.
