This is the bag I just opened. Florentine on sale -75% off and paid $85.00 at ILD. Am I being too picky?

I have to check if it's a final sale and no returns. Darn!

Unacceptable.. I'd opt to return with the condition as pictured, JMO
Thank you! I have mentioned to all the D&B PF pals that I sometimes do a closet clean out and sell clothing and accessories I have never worn or items I have worn/carried just once or twice.

When I list items I need to really look things over and disclose any flaws. I sell my stuff cheap, hoping to get just a small amount back from my initial investment.

My husband thought I was picky, but I told him if I sold this bag, I would have to list it as "new with defects". Why should I accept bad merchandise, when people I sell my closet clean out items to would not want it, and would not pay me $85.00 for it.

G. Allyn: bottom line is you have to be happy with the handbag. If the defect is only on
the bottom, then at 75% off, I don't think that is a problem. Of course, we all want
perfect bags at great discount prices. The 'test' I use, for myself, when I open a
bag that I bought online is to decide if I saw it in the store, at that price, would I
have bought it or would what ever flaw I see be enough to make me leave it behind.

Sometimes we see a flaw and it just bothers us and we know we will see it every time we
reach for the bag. Those bags should be left in the store or returned. Of course, if it's functional, like stitches or a zipper, it's a no.

But if the flaw is cosmetic, the question is how much does it bother you.
If it bothers you return it. I would probably keep the bag if I liked the style
and the color and the flaw were only on the bottom. And yes, try buffing it out
first.

Buffing is agood idea, but this felt like a scratch. It didn't look and feel like a natural occurance in the leather.

I think I will reorder and hope I get a bag that is in better condition. Yes, I use the same standard when I spot a flaw. The old thought of would I buy this one if I was in a store.

Going thru that mental exercise helps me from over-reacting or getting too upset.
When we open a new handbag we are excited and want it to be perfect.
No one wants to be disappointed or have to rationalize the purchase.

Hi, I had my eye on that bag too, is it the Florentine baguette? May I ask what color yours is? It looks almost purple in the photo. Oh, and is it very heavy? I've never bought Dooney before, but I have felt them in the store and they were heavy. and I hear Florentine is the heaviest of all.

Did this bag that you were unhappy with come from eBay or from ILD? Just curious cause I may be ordering one.😉

The damaged bag came from ILD. I returned the bag and ordered a new one (same style and in chestnut). The new bag arrived and it's perfect. Also, ordered the same bag from ILD on eBay in navy. It arrived and is a keeper. I think the bag is cheaper in eBay. The promo code is good until 12/2 and free ship.

I don't know if ILD will refund my shipping. Still waiting.

Sorry, I just saw this. I know the bag looks a little purple in the pic. It was either my camera or bad lighting. The bag is chestnut and the color is a rich, deep brown.

Also, I returned the bag, ordered the same style and color. The bag is NOT heavy. The hardware on the bag is minimal and that helps.

By the way, after complaining via email X2, my $10.00 refund on return shipping for a defective bag came through. Yeah! Thanks Dooney for making the correct Customer Service decision.

Thank you. And is the bag heavy? (even though I know it's little.)
I just pulled out the two I purchased. The color was difficult to capture accurately.

My apologies, I wash, chop and steam veggies for the week and I was in the middle of this when I looked in for a moment on PF D&B.

The florentine baguette will only carry my essentials: a full-sized Dooney wallet or credit card case, a D&B kiss-lock (I use for cosmetics) with smaller bags, keys and phone. The D&B standard cosmetic case is probably too big.

I wanted a couple of small, casual florentine bags I could carry for very casual wear. Ten years ago I didn't like puffer jackets, and ended up with several, after seeing how practical; with a bit of style, if you choose carefully for your body type. The florentine baguette goes great with this type of casual look and I plan on purchasing one or two more of these bags.

Here are a couple of pics. The colors are a couple of shades darker than shown in the pictures.
