i need your suggestions..

so i purchased three michael kors carine xs in spring colors including raspberry, limelight and a very attractive cyan powder blue color.. i like the bags but combined they were kind of up there..

i paid collectively about $720 for all three with each bag running about $221 on sale before tax.. the blue was super hard to get and already sold out multiple times..

anyway when you compare the kors carine to the dooney nano.. its like night and day because the nano has such fine detail and the quality is just so there..

i do like the carine by style as an every day carry and i definitely love all three colors..

but the carine bags just feel kind of hollow and almost like theyre not worth the money i paid.. i probably feel this way beause i wasnt able to get them on blowout discount..

the price point would have been better for each between $100 and $150....

perhaps a tough decision because i can technically afford to keep all and would like to but i just feel like i overpaid and just didn't enough quality from them..

i definitely got variety though but if i were to return them i would probably buy another color nano and still have a ton of money left over even if the nano wasn't discounted..

Quality is there with dooney. Hands down. I am a dooney florentine snob tho. So do what makes you happy and enables you to buy more bags. Lol

Thank you for posting your comparison fot eh brands. My experience comparing Dooney with other
contemporary fashion handbag brands is the same..... DOONEY WINS, no contest.

We all get drawn in by the styles, colors, sales, hype. And the other handbags are fine.
But, in my experience, $ for $, the quality of the Dooney handbags (in terms of leather
and construction and functionality) is superior to the others. All the brands have multiple collections,
using different leathers, and priced differently. It's only fair to compare similarly list priced
items. And Dooney quality is far superior, in my opinion, by that measure.

I still buy handbags in other brands, at times, but most of my collection is Dooney.
And I rarely regret the Dooney purchases when I look back....except multiples purchased
before I know if the style works for me. (It's happened more than once!)

Buy what you like, keep what you like. We all like variety and different colors and
styles from time to time. Sounds to me as if you would be happiest keeping 1 of your
new MK bags, but not all of them. That way you get the variety and the color pop
and won't have second thoughts every time you look at all of them. At least, that
is how I would resolve the dilemma, if I had bought all 3 of the bags (which is something
I would have done too).

so i just decided the kors carine xs bags just cant compete with the quality of the dooney nano and micro florentine satchels.. theres just no comparison.

the dooney bags feel like youre getting such a high quality bag for the money.. the carine xs bags just seem like somethings missing for a price point of 298 full retail..

perhaps on sale the carine xs would make more sense but at full retail.. id rather pay 330 for the dooney nano or a little more for the dooney micro.. unfortunately the mini and medium are just too big for me given their measurements..

I don't understand why the other contemporary fashion handbag brands are so much more
popular than Dooney. Price for price, I agree that Dooney has them beat by a mile in terms of
quality. And if we can get sale prices on the Dooney.....the comparisons are
even more dramatic.

And yes, I understand style preferences and advertising and fashion house names.
Dooney flies under the radar. And a lot of people still associate Dooney with the
coated cotton print collections that were so popular years ago. But Dooney leathers
are as good as or better than many other brands. And lots of fashion houses
are doing print and graphic/cartoon decorated handbags these days.
And logo handbags made a big comeback within the last few years.

I like to think of Dooney leather handbag collectors as educated buyers.
