I know someone owns this handbag and loves it.
I've been looking at it but the measurements indicate
it's a very small bag with very little depth across the base.
If you own this handbag, please measure the base width and
length. And also compare it's capacity to other Dooneys you own.

I hate to buy and then have to return a handbag. So I've been holding off.
I'm also curious about the Alto small bucket bag.... again measurements
indicate it's tiny. Would love to know if you own it.

Thanks.

In answer to your question, the domed pebble Florentine measurements are as follows:
Height: 8 inches
Length: 11 inches at base (10 inches at the top)
Width: 6 inches (5 inches of useable space at the top)

It is comparable to the zip zip but maybe an inch shorter. I love this one more and have purchased three. The wider base makes all the difference. It holds all my daily carry without stacking things on top of each other like I do in the zip zip.

Daily carry includes : 2 small wallets (coin purses), cardholder, readers, tissues, pouch for meds, pouch for small items (hand sanitizer, pen, mints, lipping, etc.).

The alto crossbody is adorable. The measurements are:
Height (useable): 6 inches
Width: 5 inches
Length: 7 inches

It is a crossbody, so not huge, but will hold my iPhone Pro 12, small coin purse or wallet, tissues, and a few small items sprinkled in (lippy, etc.). There is one zip pocket inside where I keep my ID and notes.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much it holds considering alto bags are usually big price, small bag. It is perfect for grab and go when you only need the essentials and not the kitchen sink.

It really is SO cute…and smells wonderful.

Hope this helps and good luck 🍀 as you make your decision.

LID: thank you , thank you, thank you.
The measurements on ILD on the pebble/flo domed satchel show the deipth at
3.5". That would make it very limited in my opinion. A 6" base makes all
the difference. That's deeper than the zip zip. Now, I have to go and buy
another bag!

I still the the Alto is too small for me.... but it's great looking.
I'm glad you are enjoying it. I still haven't used my 2 larger
woven Alto shoppers. Guess I don't need another similar style
anyway. But I keep looking.

LID: I just ordered the pebble/flo domed satchel in black/black.
And while I was at it, I got the pebble/flo (foldover style) 30 in azure.
They both appear to be about the same size. The 6" base makes
all the difference and will work for me if the bag is 11" long in
usable space. We will see. I don't like to stack my items vertically
or place them so they are standing up. I like to be able to open
cosmetic cases, etc without removing them from the bag when I
want to reach for a quick item like a lippie or hand sanitizer.

Hopefully the bags won't be too crowded for easy use.
I love larger bags, but the weight of all that great leather is
a big downside for me. Some times the combination of a half inch in
depth and length can make all the difference in how objects fit inside.

Thanks again for all the info.

LID: the Domed Pebble Satchel with Florentine trim has arrived and the size
is perfect. I got the black/black and now I'm thinking about another color
too. I understand why you love this bag. Thanks again.

LID: new sale today on ILD.
Price of this bag went down about $3.
Enough reason for me to order the chocolate and the bone
now that I know the size will work for me.
I really love the look with the contrast trim.

I was at Tjmaxx yesterday and i couldn’t believe what i found! I’ve looked at this bag online before but was worried about how it looked and measured and if it was heavy, she’s so beautiful! What do you think!

That looks like the other Dooney Pebbled Satchel with Florentine trim.
It's on ILD now on sale, in limited colors. I like it and ordered it in the
Azure blue. You can check out the details on ILD to see if it's the same one
and evaluate the price at TJM, and also the color choices. ILD doesn't have
any neutral colors.

I think the size will work as a 'regular' size satchel, based on the dimensions
online. You would have a better sense from seeing it in person. To me the 6"
depth across the base is a key factor in the bags roominess.

Bottom line, I like the look and the size. I'm not sure what to make of the
fact that the trim is Florentine vs. Vachetta leather. Are they really different
in this case? Are they equally durable (corners on handbags take abuse)?
Because it's Florentine does that mean it's drum dyed (a good thing)?
Hard to tell if the term Florentine adds just marketing value.

I too am a little cocerned about the extra weight added by the corner trim
and also the loss of interior space because the corner leather is folded up
but the measurements are on the outside which is longer. We could easily
lose 2-3 inches of usable length of the bag. Again, the width of the base
here is key to me.

What was the price at TJM? It's now $145 on ILD, was $143 a few days ago
during a different sale.

The Florentine is in the natural and has a super butterfly feel and suppleness vs the stiffer vachatta on most bags and it also helps to create that fold dimple w the Florentine i would think.

LJ: I am so glad you like your domed pebble/ Florentine satchel. Oh and I love that black/black. I carried my hot pink one every day for a month (maybe more) and the Florentine still looked great. I was not as gentle as I normally am for some reason. Maybe because I am trying to tell myself to “use the bags” and I mean, really live and use the bags. I am trying to be fearless and not save bags for special occasions. Maybe turning 50 inspired this new outlook. But also, hey, it is pebble leather. Dooney pebble leather which is beautiful, strong, and maintenance free. It could endure an apocalypse! I even took that bag in the rain! Yes, the Florentine spotted. But it dried, I rubbed it with the dust cover and it looks even more gorgeous because it now has a slight mottled look. I love it more  I hope you love yours, too. I am going to go look at the black/black again. Have a great weekend!

It was $135 and ild doesn’t have caramel! So i got it!
Well done. Enjoy your new Dooney. That's a great price.
Usually TJM is half off at best.

I love the tonal look of a caramel handbag with 'tan' trim.
I also love the black/black for the same reason.
They are more elegant and easier to style
than the bags with the contrasting trim.

Of course, I buy both the tonal and the bags with contrasting trim....
each has a place, and sometimes I crave the pops of color. 🙄🙄🙄
I'm waiting for my azure blue satchel from ILD to arrive.

Thank you. Very helpful. My domed satchel was black/black so I couldn't see the color
difference between Flo and Vachetta. Also, the satchel I got had very thick
Florentine leather corner, and all the Flo leather trim on my satchel had a bit of
texture. Not enough to be a problem, especially in black where there is no light
reflection, but not an ultra-smooth Flo specimen.

LID: After seeing the black/black domed satchel in person, and seeing the pics of the
bordeaux with natural trim, I couldn't wait to get another color combo.

Since I had recently gotten a different bordeaux pebbled leather handbag, and a different deep teal style (I have been busy.... OK, I've been on a handbag buying frenzy), I zoned in on the bone and the chocolate brown. I haven't been buying those colors in a while
(so I don't have quite as many as I do in red, black, navy, bordeaux, teal, dark green,
caramel/natural. 😁😁😁 And the elegance of the trim set against the dark brown and the bone really attracted me. Unusual, since I normally choose bright colors or monochromatic

Thanks for sharing the info on the domed satchel.

I am now the proud owner of 3 of the Domed Satchel in Pebbled Leather
with Florentine Trim. It's a great looking satchel, very reminiscent, in my opinion
of the look of the All Weather Leather Handbags.
The pebbling is a little larger than on the traditional Dooney pebbled leather satchels.
And the generous amount of Florentine Leather Trim makes it look like a
vintage Dooney.

The size is good... it's a generous medium sized bag, about the capacity of the
zip zip. It's deeper than the zip zip, not quite as tall, and not quite as long.
But I think it will hold about the same amount of stuff due to the 6" deep base.
The lining is the beige canvas/cotton fabric, which I prefer to the red cotton.

There are 2 things I would change.... not show stoppers, but none the less I
noticed them. The interior logo patch is a piece of fabric, not a leather patch.
To my mind it looks cheap. And the dual zippers meet in the middle, very cute and
functional, but they are on 2 separate zipper tracks and as a result there is a small
gap at the top of the bag. Not a functional issue, but it annoys me to look at it.

I'm happy with my black/black, bone/tan, and brown Tmoro/tan choices.
I think I'm done.
This satchel is $139 on ILD now and there are 11 colors.
