I’m early into my Hermes journey and I’m loving all of the dog motifs in various Hermes products! I wanted to create a thread of all of the dog-related items (either items for dogs or items that feature dogs), both past and present.

I recently picked up this Chiens Parisiens twilly, and I’m excited to add more dog items to my collection, and I’m eyeing this Chiens et Chats bangle, although I wish they had a narrower version.

Awww what a cutie pie!! What do you think of the Hermes chien grooming products?

First, let me add a photo of my late Queen B with her bed to stay on topic. My other Queen B has the bigger bed. This bed is at least three years old as my buff girl passed away three years ago. Everything is in great shape. The mat just need to be dusted regularly.

To answer the question of the H grooming products, I have to say that I am surprised how well they work. All of my rescued dogs were shown at one point and we are no strangers to all of the big name shampoos and conditioners that serious show people used. I want to throw the disclaimer out that my senior girl and my puppy both have the correct coat type, not the cottony one. So my review will be based on that.

The shampoo lathers well and it takes out the dirt (asphalt dirt) from her paws with only one application and rinse. I used a generous amount, but not too much. I think the bottle will last 8-9 baths for my cocker. My favorite non H show shampoo requires two runs of shampoo and rinsing. It also takes shorter time to rinse out the H shampoo.

The conditioner also works very well. I think the yucky stuff doesn’t stick to her paws as easily. Mud and dirt falls out of her coat and I am only worrying about grease and asphalt. I think H has done a great job there. My favorite non H brand does pretty well, but H does visibly better.

For the shampoo and conditioner, H is about 5-8 times per groom more expensive than my non H alternative.

I have not bought the pin brush. My girls had custom brushes with their pictures and names on their brushes. As for my pup, he can just use the hand me down pin brushes from my old boy in heaven. That said, my dogs use the comb and slicker brushes a lot more than the pin brush. The pin brush is literally just for show for my breed. The H one does appear to be of good construction consistent with my favorite non H ones.

Hi! I realize this is an older thread but @meowlett I am considering the barrel bed for my kiddos (Labradors) and was curious about the cushion of the bed for senior dogs? Absolutely love the look but mine are starting to get up in age so I want them to be comfy! Also you mentioned dusting it...did you ever wash it? Curious how it holds up! (You have me seriously considering the leather one now, too!)

I have never washed my cushions or needed to. I just dust and wipe them as needed. My senior dogs had no problem with the barrel bed. I would say that my cow printed one preferred the barrel bed to the leather one in her final days even though I would imagine the leather one was more comfortable.
