Thank you so much, this is helpful!!I have a 55*lb energetic young dog and I wouldn't go for the Hermes leash due to its handle. I have seen and played with one in person, it is of course high quality and I reckon it to be durable. The problem is the flat-ness shape of the handle; I've learned that with a pulling dog those will always be less comfortable on your hands than the rounded, foam/padded type handles.
*55 last we were at the vet for his checkup. I have a suspicion he's heavier by a couple pounds now...
I have a dog collar from H and it is cute (I don't leash my dog via collar though always a harness). I have also tried their dog shampoo and conditioner. At the end of the day...I think you will be paying a lot of $ for the H brand more so than just the value of the product itself (unsurprisingly of course)
This is so helpful! I was looking at the Medor and Tressee, my store doesn’t have the Gaucho in stock but I’ll see if they can bring it in. Thank you!I have a few of the H leashes (pretty all except for the Epsom ones). I actually don’t think it was uncomfortable on my hand when my dog pulls. Granted she is 19 lbs only, she can pull too. Personally, I always find a leather leash handle a lot better than plastic ones, even the spongy ones. I once had a dog that would jerk me around suddenly, the only thing that I could use on him was leather leashes (for my own hand and also the security of the grip.)
And of the leashes that I have, I like Gaucho the best. I step on it at airports and on planes. And I have used that almost daily for training for 3 years. It still holds up pretty well. It has traveled with my dog to many places. All of the other few are good for walks. The leather has patina on those leashes. I think I bought the first four leashes right before the pandemic.
