Does your SA share B/K offer details (color/size/hardware) over the phone?

  • SA only says "something special" on phone/email; I find out the exact details in store

  • SA says B or K on phone/email, but doesn't share further details

  • SA gives me most or all the details on phone/email

Hello tPF

Just curious as to others' experiences. I have different SAs since I travel a lot. And they're always very charmingly coy and vague over the phone, often saying things like "I have something to show you" or "something for your birthday." (My heart goes all a-flutter at this point.) I was wondering, maybe they don't want to share details anyway because they want me to come and see it in person... It is all part of the experience.

Just wondering if this is on par with others' experiences? Or do other ladies have a more efficient relationship with their SA? Does anyone's SA tell them the details of the B or K before they come to the store?

I had 2 major items on my wish list. A size 28 black Kelly Sellier for me and a green for my sister. When my SA called, she told me she does not have my black yet, but the green Kelly that i was looking for my sister is in. Size 28, ghw, and she thinks it’s a green that my sister would like.
I’m also eyeing an all black rodeo pm size. Recently, she had a shipment of a few in. Called and let me know that there are no black, but some nice colors that I may want to come in and take a look.
She’s been pretty specific with info when calling.
Could be each SA personality too...

My SA gives me B/K/C details over text. Nothing coy, my store knows I don't like that!

I'm traveling often/split time between a few places, so I wouldn't want the store to hold something 'they think I'd like' when it turns out I don't.

Mine does, although it's teased out (one spec at a time - how do you feel about x color? Ok, what about in a x size? Ok and, you're ok with x leather? etc. lol), but I think it's because he knows I'm very particular and specific about what I want.

Yes. I receive the details over text.
It's good for the SA too because if I turn it down, she can offer it to another client.

In the beginning, my SA would always ask me to go to the store when she "has something special to show me".
Giving the SAs the benefit of doubt, I think they also want to give you the whole "experience" when you are a new client and they have not figured out what you want/like yet so they always want you to go in and see the bag in person.

I am done with that now and she knows it too. I am specific with what I like and I have turned down a number of bags already so there is no point wasting everyone's time.
