My mom paid for something 3 weeks ago, and hasn't gotten the item. He charged $28 shipping on top of it, saying it was so high because he was disabled. Okay. So here's the response she got after emailing him a week ago.
Does this sound like something the PO would do? Call?
If this is true, it's very sad, but after everything I've been reading about ebay, it's hard to not be skeptical. :/ Why on earth would you tell somebody you don't know all these details?

I sincerely apologize for the delay. My brother was in an accident, a very tragic one where he was ran over by a car, and then bounced into the other lane, and then was ran over by a truck. The car ripped his right leg off before he was hit by the truck. We are very lucky that he is still hanging on to his life as he completely bled out on the road before he could be medflown to the hospital. But anyway, our family has been in such a turmoil. However, I did make it to the Post Office with the shipping receipt on the day that your first email came in, and they put a trace on the package. They called this morning to say that the package had been returned to the Post Office after it had been first misrouted, and they were sending it back out this morning. You should have it no later Tuesday. USPS does not update their tracking information. They give you a tracking number, and only update the tracking information once the package is delivered. This is not a very good tracking method, but they did locate your shipment, said that it was in good shape and that they were sending it on to you. I sincerely apologize for the delay but the mail tends to go crazy about November 1st, due to all the overseas shipping to the Military. Coupled with this tragic accident, every thing has gone awry. I sincerely apologize for all the delays and appreciate your patience in this matter.
