Does the Tank Francaise only come in quartz movement?

Thank you! I was looking at the midsize...is there a major downside to the Quartz? Large is just too big for me

I can't think of a downside to the quartz. Rather the automatic has costly service intervals, less accurate, more subject to shock and magnetism while being a highly undecorated modified eta calibre.

In addition, since it is a 2-handed watch, there will be no tell-tale ticking second hand giving away the quartz movement.

The tank louis cartier xl has a lovely movement though...

Good to know about buying the Quartz watch over the automatic

I had the choice between the Quartz and automatic when purchasing my Tank, and I opted for Quartz. The SA at Birks advised me that most owners tend not to use the Tank as their "main" watch, and feel an automatic requires more work to maintain. I found this true, since I usually now wear my Tank on more casual occasions as opposed to formal events, and have a terrible habit of putting my automatic watches back in the winder :S

For me I don't mind the fact that it is quartz, but as much as I love the Tank Française Mid, I cannot bring myself to pay that kind of $ for a quartz movement when I could get another Rolex for about the same price, which holds its resale better and (at least in my opinion) has more value to its inner workings.... I really wish there were an automatic Tank mid!
