Does the mini bumbag mean the bumbag will make a comeback?

I have recently been on a journey with the bumbag … I was watching three on vinited they were all up for £2600 ! Almost three time the original price. I waited and waited and watched them gradually lower their price. In the end I got mine for £1700 she’s immaculate with the receipt box etc. I knew she was genuine but had my SA friend check it over to be sure. Back to your question .. I have heard a whisper that there will be a version of the original out towards the end of the year same size ( if not a little bigger ) without the leather strap.
Here’s mine. I hated it when it first come out ( I was very much in an everything dark / black stage ) but recently fell back in love with the classic monogram. I was at the point if I couldn’t sleep thinking about it.

I know! I really wish i had just gotten it when it was still available. I get so nervous to buy secondhand but so glad yours is authentic!!
I wonder what the material of the strap will be if it’s not leather

I think it’s really easy to spot fakes there are always tell tail signs and things that are off. As long as you’re buying with buyer protection you have nothing to lose. And I believe if what I’ve heard is correct it will be like what’s on the discovery bumbag.

I don’t necessarily think the new mini is a sign the original will come back any time soon. Of course we can never say never, but I think the mini is more a sign that LV recognizes the fact that the original one was popular, but they’ve decided to rework it, presumably to address some of the issues on the original model. The original model was notorious for developing cracks on the straps (the fold where it connects to the body of the bag), and I think they got tired of having to return/exchange them for people. I’ve even heard this from a SA — that they discontinued it due to the cracking issue.

So I personally think that the reason why this new one doesn’t have the traditional bumbag-style straps attached to the sides is their way of directly addressing this issue.

Another common complaint I heard was that the original one was quite large, especially when worn across the chest, so I think they scaled it down to make it a bit more streamlined and wearable for women.

I believe there is another version coming out later this summer or year, and it does look more like the original version than the mini one does, but it is smaller than the original one and has a considerable amount of vachetta around the zipper which looked odd to me. I can’t remember if someone has posted a pic here, but I saw a pic of it in one of MarquitaLVLuxury’s videos on YouTube a couple of months ago. Not 100% sure if/when it will be released, but fans of the original one might like it better than this mini one. :smile:

I think this is so true. I actually had to return a MWT bumbag due to cracking around the zipper. This was how it arrived to me, I had not even used it. They refunded with no questions asked whatsover. I think I could hear them sighing when they opened my return.

I agree; I’m not a fan of the vachetta around the zipper. I saw a comment somewhere that said it looks like Gumby’s lips and now I can’t unsee that! :giggle:

Personally I think the new mini is the cuter of the two options, but only you can decide for yourself which you like better. Maybe you can visit a store to try the new mini one on in person to decide for yourself if you like it? Or even order it online and then return if you’re not a fan. Originally I wasn’t in love with it, but it’s grown on me; I think it looks SO much better pictured on a person than just the plain product shots. There are some great photos on this forum and also some YT vids that show mod shots that have been helpful to me, but I’m still hoping to try it on in a store soon before making my final decision. :smile:

I have the original and love it so I'm not interested. This feels like it has way too much going on with the vachetta, the guitar strap (I'm not a fan of those on EVERYTHING) and that tag in the middle. I don't like that on anything.

I'm about to pay a large sum for the original. I agree - this one feels "busy." And the guitar strap! I mean I LOVED it circa 2019 for MPA but is it necessary on all of these new releases. Also agree about that tag. Sigh..... I guess I open my wallet for the original.

I was able to get the original right before it was discontinued and I'm thrilled with it. Some people think it's big, but I'm 4'11" and it's not too big on me, plus it holds what I need to carry. Good luck! I'm interested to see!
