The care cards in my red and black hamiltons just say to wipe surface dirt and leave ink, grease and oil stains BUT the care card in my luggage hamilton says that it will patina and to keep it from prolonged sunlight, heat and humidity. Also, " Exposure to water, oil, makeup and permanent dyes can unfortunately stain tanned leathers."

I sprayed her with apple to protect from stains but am wondering if anyone has had their luggage hamiltons patina? TIA!

I use my luggage Hamilton a lot and it hasn't developed patina per se but has developed a "glaze" almost. Oil & makeup do really impact this bag & the baking powder fix doesn't work on that leather. Eventually the leather will absorb the oil and disburse it so it is less noticeable. It isn't quite as delicate as it sounds from my post but I don't know about patina. I have only had mine for about 6 weeks.
