Hi everyone

I am wanting to buy a 5 motif bracelet and currently torn between MOP or a gold (hammered or possibly guilloche). I plan on wearing the 5 motif with my love bracelet. I currently have 1 VCA piece (MOP necklace).

I would be really grateful for any insights into the wear/tear of the MOP 5 motif when stacked - does it cause the MOP to become dull?

This piece is something that I would want in my collection forever. I am not fussed about scratches but more so whether it means the MOP would become dull etc.

Thanks kindly & wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

I think the dullness will have more to do with your pH, how much you sweat, what products do you use on your arm where you put on the bracelets, and even the climate where you live. If you live in a humid, tropical region, I'd suspect the MOP will become dull much quicker than if you were to live in a colder, drier area.

Thank you! And unfortunately I do live in a tropical climate (Aus)

Due to MOP's delicate nature, the dullness is kind of the inevitable. But the good news is, depend on how you care for it the dullness is not going to become an issue overnight, it'll probably take years before you notice the changes. If you really like MOP you should still get it, enjoy wearing it for a few years and have VCA replace the stones when they become too dull to your liking. I have a similar dilemma with GMOP, I love its iridescence but I'm a sweaty mess in the summer so I still haven't pull the trigger.

That is a great point! And I am totally the same as you - I am a sweaty mess and live in a tropical climate (equivalent to Miami for reference if you are from America) May I ask how do you store MOP? The VCA website said to store it in a cloth lined box but I have yet to find one lol. I have a MOP necklace that I just keep on my dresser but for a bracelet I’d be more inclined to store it correctly:smile:
