Does keeping your vachetta inside its bag and box when not in use still darken?

When I don't use my bags, I keep them in their respective bags and box. I'm one of the few who prefers the patina to be as light as possible. I know that in the long run, that won't be possible, but I wanted to at least have it stay light for as long as possible. Is this the case, or will it darken regardless?

Does anyone have any experience with this? I see people bringing their bags out and putting directly in the sun to "tan" them. Obviously I don't do that.

You’re only supposed to store your bags in the dust bag and not the box. It needs fresh air to circulate. Going back to your question vachetta will not darken if stored in a dust bag. I have a vachetta strap from 15 years ago, which I’ve never used. It’s been in the dust bag the whole time and looks just like the day I bought it.

Oooh, good to know. I didn't know I shouldn't store in the box. I'll keep them out of the box and in the bags only. Thank you!

Agree I have a bag that’s nearly 10 years old and have only used it a few times, the vanchetta is like new.

I keep my Eva clutch in its dustbag and box, have only used it a few times in the past 9 years, it has a light even patina. The leather strap I have never used and it also has a light even patina despite being stored in the dustbag and box.
