Does Harrods include all duties/taxes? (Delivery to Canada)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to purchase from Harrods.com. I’m in Canada.

The website says: “To make worldwide shipping easy, we have included duties and taxes in the product price where possible. Duties and taxes will be included and shown at the Checkout for the following countries”. Canada is listed.

Has anyone purchase from Canada and experienced additional duties/fees ordering online from Harrods?

I’m just a little confused because when I checkout, I only see Subtotal and a Delivery fee. There is no mention of duties. So I’m not sure, are duties and taxes built into the subtotal?

The site also says this which I’m a little confused about: “If you are ordering from within your own Customs zone or region, import duties will not be applicable; however, you may need to pay VAT or local sales taxes. For the UK and the USA, these are included at Checkout.”

Sounds as clear as mud.

It sounds like they're not included for you in Canada.

Harrods' CS is not always the best but you could contact them to clarify.

Thanks for your responses! I did email them again to clarify as the first time they had just copied and pasted what the page said. Now their customer service said “Taxes and duties are included for Canadian orders.” I don’t see any though on my checkout page. So odd.

Also messaged them on FB Messenger and they said “We can confirm what you see at the checkout is what you will pay. There will be no additional fees upon delivery.”

If I make my purchase, I’ll update this thread in case any other Canadians are looking to order from them :)
