Does anyone wish they had joined in on the Orange Hold Me?

I do!

I was just learning about BE when you all were choosing your bags, but now I am SO wanting one!

I'm thinking of doing a bespoke, but I really want Orange 1 or Orange 2, not Clementine. I emailed Rose to check if that were possible.

Just testing the waters to see if there might be interest to do another group bespoke. The original had 24 interested and 17 ordered, so maybe there are others out there who'd like a second chance?

Funny you should ask this, because I just got into BE and had a similar twinge of jealousy that I didn't get in on that bespoke. But now I'm thinking of bespoking a HM in matte mandarin, which I think I like even better. (Trying to decide between this and dark purple matte. Or both! if nobody's in a hurry.)

See these reveals of mandarin bags by Moonstarr and gga:

I mean, I don't know if you prefer the pebbled leather, or if mandarin floats your boat (I preferred Clementine to Orange 1 & 2, so maybe it's me)--but I figured everyone who could possibly be interested in an orange Hold Me had gotten in on that bespoke, so I hadn't even hoped there could be a group bespoke for mandarin.

Ohh, that is a nice orange too.

The only thing that worries me about Matte - is it more scratchable than the pebbled? I'm not super gentle.

I don't know anything from experience because I only have one BE bag, in pebbled glossy, and it's brand new. Based on what I've read, the matte leathers can scratch, but the leather can be moisturized/buffed so the scratches rub out, and over the long run the leather will develop a patina. I am less worried about matte leathers than about the mottled metallic and sheen leathers, because it sounds like they're easier to restore if they're scuffed. I'd love to hear from people who own matte bags for a little reassurance.

I didn't join in the orange HM bespoke (even though there's a free AP!!!) because I wanted Orange 2 and it's all out. From that bespoke thread, it appears that only Orange 1 is left available, so no chance of any Orange 2 or Clementine. Orange 2 I believe is the one closest to Hermes Orange.

There are a couple of old threads which discuss the wear, durability of the different leathers. You can do a search for them, they're really helpful

Peppy, this is so funny as I knew someone had explained what Hermes orange each of the BE oranges compared to and it turned out when I searched it was you! The post is here:

I ended up with Clementine which I love but there was only enough for 3 and orange 2 I believe only had enough for 4-5. Orange 1 is still lovely and there is probably a swatch available to view if one really wanted to see it. Orange is a beautiful color for the Hold Me, they just seem to go together! (matte or pebbled!) I hope you all can get the bags your wishing for!

Yes, here are a couple I've been reading:

I also just looked at the http://forum.purseblog.com/belen-echandia/matte-or-pebbled-grey-499389.html thread tonight, which I hadn't bothered looking at before because I really can't see myself ever buying a bag in grey. But bonniekir said some really interesting things about matte leather, which sum up why I'm attracted to it:

IMO I think the matte leathers have more debth and variation in the colour than the pebbled and it just develops in time. The leather develops a sheen and richness. But the pebbled is more strechy and hardy in texture and the leather does not have the same tonal variations as the mattes and pretty much stays the same.

I agree with the fact, that the pebbled are very hardwearing...but I must also say, I love the five matte Hold me's I have, because to follow the change and "aging" in these, are of a great pleasure to me.This aspect I don't get with any of the pebbled bags I have.

My one BE is a TME midi in black pebbled glossy. I'm really happy with the leather so far, and for a black bag I use a lot the durability of the leather is really important to me. But from the pictures I've seen, I love how the matte leathers take color, and I am willing to take a little more care with a matte bag in exchange for those gorgeous, saturated colors.

I'd forgotten about that post of mine! lol...

I just checked with Maya for Orange 1 and Orange Matte swatches, no luck though.
