Hi, dear TPFers,
Does anyone have the date of this year's H sale in NY? After seeing posts of Paris and London sale, am wondering if they r going to have this year. I've been there twice over the years, last time was in 2011, found some nice scarves, scarf rings, etc. Hope to find some accessories this year.

I was recently at another event at Soiffer Haskin and was told the next Hermes sale was going to be September.

I have never gone to an H sale but had heard past ones were extremely successful. After reading this and recalling some of the negative opinions voiced about the sale last year from multiple sources, I really don't blame H for forgoing it...negative press, even if on blogs, can be harmful....couple this with low stockage and I am sure their public relations team recommended they "forgo" it too....however I think that they should make September sales "legendary" to the extent practicable given their loyal customer base.

Parisian powerhouse Hermès will not be having a sample sale this month. For many New Yorkers and avid sample sale shoppers, the brand's bargain event has always been known as the pinnacle of all sales. Ask anyone fortunate enough to have attended one of the company's sales from long ago and he/she will tell you at least one wonderful story to gush over. Sadly, ever since the sale moved to Soiffer Haskin in 2010, that golden era is no more. With pricing and offerings on a noticeably worsening trajectory, the once revered sale has lost its mojo for sure. Hermès' very last sale in September '13 is a good example of how bad the sale has gotten. But still, to learn that the brand won't be having a sample sale this September (and probably for the year) is truly a tragedy. Perhaps it's because the house is reportedly doing so well (Hermès made $2.5 billion in the last 6 months) but September just won't be the same without their legendary event.

I went to the sample sale eons ago (stumbled upon it since it's always held in my neighborhood). Was the most amazing sale - soooo many scarves and ties (up the wazoo), bracelets, Canvas garden party's and other bags - no B or K when I arrived). I wasn't into the brand back then so didn't go nutty but I picked up a couple of scarves for $100 or $150 each. Vivid memory of that experience. Haven't been back since even though it's still in my hood.
I find all sample sales in ny aren't great now so it isn't really worth the time for me to wait in line or fight for items. Caveat: I didn't wait for the H sale that one time nor fight for anything so I had a great experience.
