Short story:
Went shopping for a dress and left w/ that but also a purse....The metallic green stanton to be exact. I thought it was a nice neutral-ish color to have. But the thing is, one side isn't identical to the other... I'm fixing it now (hopefully) because I have i in a box and the side where it puffs out more is getting pushed in...in the morning the sides should look the same. I'm guessing it was overstuffed so one of the sides stuck out more than the other.

I have recently purchased a mini bennett from the outlets and although the bag feels "heavy", it doesn't look like its straining (I'm talking about the part where the cross body strap attaches to the bag) but on this stanton, same contents are in it as the bennett, it just seems like its too heavy and it scares me because it seems as if the bag is straining...

Question: How has this bag held up? How much are repairs if say down the line the threading breaks where the hooks connect the cross body straps to the bag?

Long story:
The price tag said 20% off and the tag said $221. I figured ok, it's $177 plus another 20%.. takes that to about $148 give or take... eh, I was holding it and comparing it to my mini bennett, really contemplated if I needed it or not.. at the particular location I was at, there was 4 different bags to choose from plus the metallic cherry was available as well.

I passed on it because I figured it was a sign that the SA was busy that I shouldn't buy it. Well I went to dinner, I came home, I was thinking about it again, drove 15 minutes to my local mall to take a look at it again and there was only 1 metallic green bag left!

It was returned ( I saw there return price tag ) PLUS unlike the first location, the hardware didn't have any protective packaging to prevent scratches, there were scratches to the coach handtag in the front... basically it was in poor condition compared to the other 4 I saw - but I said to myself I'd just go ahead and buy it then return it if I needed to. Purchased it in a hurry and came home and modeled it in the mirror - one side was puffed out way more than the other! Immediately regretted the fact that I didn't buy a brand new one from the first location :nono::hrmm:

However... it rang up as $114, $128 (tax included)....

Is this bag worth keeping for the price? Or should I return it and save for a different bag?

Also, do you think they'll price match if I exchange this for a better quality stanton fro the first location?

Ladies of TPF I'm sure you may be annoyed of my rants but any help/advice is greatly appreciated !

It sounds like you aren't in love with it. So ask yourself- do I love this bag? Yes- keep it. No-I'd return and wait for the right bag to come along.
It's very easy to get caught up in the sales- I've ended up with several bags I didn't need/want, but they were a good price. I ended up returning them or selling them.

Thanks Sarah :smile1:, you're right, I saw the sales and it was an impulse buy *sigh* but I couldn't just walk away from it lol... I'm gonna take it for a test run tomorrow and see how functional it is for me. If I feel like I have to baby it, I'll have to return it... if I love it, well I'll have to return the mini ben.

Money spent is still money spent. Why waste it on something you're not happy with?

So so true :amuse: I'm gonna take it for a test run and see how i feel about it, thank you for your response <3

As the others have pointed out, that 'little voice' is going off probably meaning your questioning the whole purchase. Just because something is a deal doesn't make it one for you... i saw a gorgeous swagger at the factory store BUT it was the biggest one they made! it was a heck of a deal but i cannot carry a bag that big. So i set it back(painfully lol)

This plus 1000 :-)

Omgosh, yeah :confused1: I know the feeling. It's super hard.. I still don't know what to do about it though. I just read the only thread on here about someone who had a Stanton and after taking it out today and reading what she said, I'm gonna stick w/ my bag for a little longer...not gonna baby it, just rotate this and my bennett...even though it was purchased during a sale, would this still be considered a FP bag? I'd really like to test the difference of quality in both bags if it is..

WAIT I also wanted to tell you I exchanged the mini skinny in the dark berry color for the pink (its called marshmallow, weird lol) one and tell me why I was speaking w/ the SA about all the sales and how I was interested in the "wanted" bag or the ACE... she made it sound so good to me when she said the ACE was $500 and now down to only $297......... I was thinking about the $$$ saved but I had to walk away.... so...so hard

IME, if a bag has flaws before I buy it, the flaws bother me until I end up returning or selling the damaged bag. I've heard many ladies express the same sentiment here. If it were me, I'd exchange it for a flawless one, even if the perfect one is a little more.

Feel free to join the ban thread on the shopping board. Although ban really means to not buy, we frequently end up giving reviews, discussing ways to get the best deals, and generally convincing each other to put a lot of thought into each purchase.

Can you direct me to the link?? I'd love to ! Or what should I search?

I did end up fixing the sides of the bag to make them look symmetrical :D the problem was that it had been overstuffed so I put it into a box overnight and bam! Perf. Until I noticed a dent in the front so I went back to the first location and picked out a better quality one. Hardware was perfectly wrapped and everything lol. I felt like a freak for exchanging for the same color and model of a bag but I couldn't deal with the indentation. Anyway... there's a small speck of white on the strap but that doesn't bother me since I got such a good deal on it :P

The ban thread is here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/involuntary-coach-ban-support-group-894409.html Skip to the end, though, after reading the rules in the first couple of posts. It's almost 200 pages long.

I'm glad you were able to exchange it for a better one! What's making the white spot; is it a scrape that goes underneath the color, or something on top of the color?

Cool just subbed to the thread I'll be going through it tonight thank you! ♡

I know huh, I was lucky there was still some in stock. But on the strap, it's the glazing I thought it could be removed with a little water but turns out it's a part of the glazing that's gone it's just white underneath... not that big of a deal, I'm bummed it's not 100% perfect but it's still better than the other one I had lol

Rehabbers would recommend you go to a craft store and get the exact shade of matching paint, mix it with a good leather conditioner, and apply it to the spot. I'd try a green Sharpie (it's not the exact right color, but it may be better than stark white).

:worthy: thank you! Sounds like an easy fix, if I don't have a sharpie at home, you think nail polish would be a bad idea? I was thinking that or covering it w/ the adjustable band on the strap

I will neither confirm nor deny that I have used nail polish to fix spots on bags for my own personal (i.e., never to be resold) use... :sneaky:

Yep, it doesn't lose it's boutique status just because you bought it on sale. ;) My oldest and I each own a mix of FP and MFF bags as per anything some made better than others. As i have mentioned before the bennett is a nice bag! the only issue ODD has had with hers is color transfer BUT hers is neon pink and denim nailed it with some blue.

As for the wanted satchel.. ugh... yeah i wanna see this bag lol. HOwever i don't know where it's carried other than the big city and with xmas so close... i don't want to go there.

I heavily went over an Ace ... two things bugged me it's chubby width and that annoying snap on the inside pocket! i could not get it to unsnap and i did not want to force it. The leather divine, outside pocket awesome... padded shoulder strap piece, see your not alone in your confusion lol.
