I love all kinds of bags...and Ive been really enjoying thrifting some awesome bags over the last few years.
In the last few weeks I thrifted a Guess Elara Box satchel bag in near new condition and last year I found a Guess Bourgeois Hobo from 2012 that had very little wear but minus its handtag.
I was surprised to find them in such good condition as my experiance with thrifted Guess bags is they are usually falling apart , peeling and just plain horrid.
I visited Strandbags in Auckland New Zealand while I was there and looked at a few Guess bags they had..and thought for those of us on a lower income , they were very reasonable. And quality seemed rather good. There is no one in my home town that sells Guess , so you have to look at the big centres to find them. So I hadnt seen how they had improved over the years.
But I still wonder...do they still sell?

Do any of you still own any Guess bags?
Or does this brand have a image problem?
Did it go from being the brand everyone wanted many years ago to being looked down on now?
Or am I talking out my ear!!!

Never owned a Guess bag but have friends who do, and their bags have held up for years!
Edit: I see a lot off Guess bags being carried in airports. I'm guessing they're the perfect carry-ons because people don't have to baby the bag while on the flight.

The designs are nice enough (although I personally am not a fan of anything covered in logos) however, I find the price point is near enough Calvin Klein that if you're going to do something at that price point, CK is a nicer option most of the time. I say this because CK feels better to the touch, whereas all the Guess bags felt very plastic-y and horrible to me. The CK bags feel like decent vegan leather and are soft to the touch.

The bags you thrifted look awesome and look to be in great condition! I'm sure they'll hold up well. Enjoy!

Here I see Guess on women of all age groups; from teens to grannies. I can certainly understand why - Finland is so freckin expensive compared to the amounts people get paid that regular people have to seriously think what they spend their money on. Guess and CK are in that price range that is reachable.

My Guess phase was before I really discovered Mulberry and LC, I had several bags and wallets. Now I have one Guess hobo I use in the summertime and a silver clutch I refuse to give up.
Guess is expensive for PU bags but the PU is good quality so I guess that kind of makes up for it.
