I once gave my Burberry silk scarf (my first 'expensive' scarf) to a drycleaner and they ruined it. It came back with colour runs which never came out and I ended up getting rid of the scarf
So when I started collecting H silk scarves and twillys, I did not want to entrust them to any other drycleaner, so I got some silk liquid soap and hand washed a twilly for starters, it turned out fine and now I hand wash most of my silk at home.
