Congrats on a successful move! If you were anything like me, I'm guessing you guarded that carry-on with your life. 😄 Though I'm sure all will be well, my fingers are crossed for you that there are no hitches with the FedEx packages.
Haha, I was actually so tired, I didn’t even look at it once it went into the overhead compartment…
Phew! Great packing job for precious cargo!

Your Bengal - so beautiful!
Thank you! Can’t wait for him to join me.
Sorry you missed your original flight! That’s so stressful. But glad you, your kitty and the H fam had made it safely to your new home. I always love reading your posts and looking forward to your future action posts in Dubai!!
Thank you! He’s travelling separately, so will be arriving on Tuesday.
Congrats on your move! I'm so glad the bags made it unscathed (and a little chuffed the pillow went in your cabin bag ). Please let us know when your beautiful cat arrives though! It sounds like he/she travelled separately?
Thank you! Yes, your pillow has crossed the world with me hehe. Yeah, they don’t really clear pets on the weekend, so he will be flying on Monday arriving on Tuesday.
Wonderful! Very very happy for you and do give us un update when your cat arrives! (Btw who did you use ?) how does Dubai compare with London ?
I used a company I used before to send him to Singapore during the pandemic - called FlyPets. Highly recommend them for a door-to-door service if ever you need it.

Dubai is interesting, though I’ve realised it’s not really walkable for me due to the way the roads are set out. This will be interesting.
I was wondering about your dear cat with the move and all..
Looking forward to some 'in action' shots in Dubai.
Wishing you much joy and new friends and adventures in your new base.
Thank you!
Welcome to the new city. Whenever you need advice, please write. Unfortunately, Dubai has a lot of issues with humidity. Never turn off the air conditioning in the room where your bags will be. In general, never turn off the AC. Lol.
Thank you! Are you based here? lol, I am dreading the thought of my electricity bill already, but I cannot even really survive a short while in this heat without it!

Unfortunately, I'm on the other side of the Gulf, but we frequently escape to Dubai. We have friends there who have been living there for a long time, some even from London. It means that we are here in case of any need.

So I finally arrived in Dubai (after missing my flight, and having to spend my own dime to get a new one - but that’s a whole other story) and the Hermes bags survived in my carry-on luggage! (The Diors and Vuittons survived in the check-in luggage thankfully…)

I ended up having to ship my Kelly box, which should arrive in the next two weeks.

The Kelly and Mini Evie were packed into the trolley cabin bag. I first layered the bottom of the bag with clothing, to prevent any indentations from the suitcase handles, followed by the Kelly which had a bag pillow in it, and the Mini Evie which was stuffed with Rodeos…

I then layered it with a soft prayer mat, some soft bedroom slippers, and at the base of the bag, where it would be when the bag is vertical, I first put some leather jewellery boxes so that the Kelly remains at the very top of the suitcase when being rolled. I was still panicking as I really had to pile on more things on top of the prayer mat - like a document folder, and an iPad Mini…

Of course with my luck, the first time I stood it up and rolled it out, it fell flat forward (I think 10 years of my life left at that point…)

But I think the layering helped!

All unpacked and in pristine condition…

Now I just have to wait for all the other bags to come in two shipped suitcases through FedEx.

Oh, and the cat too… (not through FedEx tho!)

Happy to hear! But can’t help but notice - where is your beautiful B35 (Malachite?)?

amazed you rehomed it! but then I'm a big bag lover (5'3" and hankering after a 40cm......)
I know you'll rock a B25 like you rock all your bags
Thank you! Yeah, I’ve realised with time I’m just not a big bag boy. I always felt super conscious of the width of the B35, and worried about knocking it into corners etc. The weight certainly didn’t help too!

Ugh, Royal Mail lost my Kelly box that I shipped before flying to the UAE. I now no longer have a box for my Kelly 28.

I’m so frustrated - I’ve always had full sets of boxes for my Hermes bags, and given that this one is my favourite, it rankles even more!
oh I'm so sorry! are you sure they've lost it?
Do you have tracking details or anything?

Perhaps no consolation, but I opted not to transport my K28 box back from Paris last spring when I purchased the bag. I totally get the desire to have the full set but at least you have the bag itself and what a stunner it is!
