Do You think the Quality of Luggage has improved in NYC?

During recent to trip to NYC-Ellis Island.
I am a little messy after a cold boat ride myself, but I thought it was funny to look at all this baggage carried over in the early 1900's.
No Fendi or Gucci here, inspite of an influx of Italian immigrants (my grandparents included). Also, you just have to love the fashion in the backround. Yikes!

LOL!! Actually, this stuff maybe more durable than much of the current luggage available.

I think luggage back then is alot more durable then it is now a days.
