Normally I find the text shorthand abhorrent, however, I texted for the first time today, and it is a TON of work typing everything out in full....

I use T9 so it's easy for me. My text are almost novels
...it took me a LONG time to realize that texts can only be a certain length before being charged for 2, 3, 4, 5 texts
I never understood why my cell kept saying "SMS 2, 3, 4, 5" until I finally got my cell bill!

No. The only time it ever appears in my texts are if I'm forwarding something on from someone else.
Personally I just can't stand looking at shorthand. I think it looks sloppy and lazy.

No, I dont type shorthand. I also have a qwerty keyboard, so its not a big deal to type out a complete sentence. As well, I think most phones nowadays have the recognition so that you only have to type the first few letters of a word anyway and it automatically fills it in for you, and/or if you make a mistake in typing a word, it will fix it. I see no reason to type in shorthand.
for me i use my keyboard i have the plam pre and just type regular i really dont like short hand
i hate text shorthand and never do it. Even if it takes me longer, I type out every single word.
