Hi ladies, what I found during the deep cleaning in my closet took me back to my 18

I remember that I saved my pocket money for a long time to get these earrings first. They are custom made, not perfect stones used but were perfect for a teenager. Then the rings came easily by the time that year.

Do you still keep yours? Why don't you share yours and just get lost in the memories together :tender:

I don't have any of my 'childhood' jewelry - don't have anything acquired before my 55th birthday. I had sold some older gold pieces that no longer fit me and couldn't be resized, and shortly after that the rest of it was stolen from my house. So unfortunately my memories are now in someone else's hands, but fortunately still in my mind/heart.

I'm so sorry... Even the thought of robbery is awful  hope you get more beautiful things that will remind you the best memories

I am SO very sorry that this happened to you!! Thankfully, whoever took your jewelry couldn't take the memories from you. The memories are what truly matter, despite that it's nice to have a physical reminder of those memories.

To answer the OP's original question:

Personally, my very first diamond piece was a non-branded DBTY in sterling silver when I was a junior in high school... a gift from the boyfriend who would later become my husband (and then ex-husband)... and it went missing long ago. Not that I mind... I've seen photos of his other girlfriend(s) wearing them, and I'm starting to believe that's where mine went, anyway...

My next diamond piece was my engagement ring, which I gave back to my ex-husband's mother during our divorce (because the ring had been made using the <.25 diamond from my ex-husband's baby ring, and I thought that it should remain in the family as an heirloom). I had a lot of jewelry, acquired during my marriage, but it was all sold off to pay for the divorce and to keep my bills paid when I didn't have any income during our separation prior to the divorce.

I don't have any of my "old" diamond pieces anymore, although I do have two small diamond rings inherited from my grandmother (which I had repaired last summer so that I could wear them) and a pair of DBTY earrings I received last Christmas. My diamonds aren't flashy by any means, but they mean a lot to me.

Actually, it was him who got rid of me. :giggles: The kind, naive woman that I am... I suggested marriage counseling. It was him who went to the courthouse and then served me with divorce papers! Either way... he did me a favor. He knew he wasn't good enough for me and showed himself the door!

As far as passing down jewelry items... Right now, everything will go to my son for his future wife. Unless I'm lucky enough to have a daughter in the future... The child in my avatar is my son pre-haircut. I allowed his curls to get out of control!! He looks like a little boy now. ;)

you did the right thing with considering the counseling, what a real family requires. hope you get what you wish in positive :smile1:

Oh, I definitely kept those baby curls!! I have a whole bag full of curls tucked inside of a greeting card box. :giggles: I couldn't keep just one, so I scooped it ALL into a bag. I'm absolutely certain that if I allowed his hair to grow back, it would still curl like that, but it was hard to cut it all off the first time!

And thank you!! :D
