Do you sometimes wear another ring and not your wedding set? Like a cocktail ring?

This weekend, my fingers were bloated and my ering and band were soo tight, so I wore a large cushion cut London blue topaz with sapphire and a diamond double halo. I left it on for a few days and I really loved it! It was nice and big.
Do you sometimes wear gemstone rings on your wedding finger? My DH said it looked really good, but not traditional and OTT. I really loved it and want to wear it again. It looks like a cocktail ring I guess, but it suits me and make me happy. I love the bright blue color and the double halo.

Would you ever? If you saw it, would you think the person wasn't married and just wearing a big ole ring on that finger?
Opinions please!

I wear fun rings on my right hand. And although I usually don't check a woman's hand to find out if she is married, I guess that yes, I'd have to assume she was not married if she was wearing a cocktail ring on the left ring finger. However, people could make the same assumption about anyone with a non-traditional e-ring, so that really isn't a fair assumption. But just like an e-ring style, it comes down to YOUR preference. YOU know you are married, so it doesn't really matter what anyone else assumes.

Keep in mind that in most orthodox cultures (e.g. Russia) wedding rings are worn on the right hand. Maybe I just live in a tourist-heavy city, but here you can never make assumptions about marital status from what hand a ring is worn on.

no but your ring sounds lovely. i might not think, gee, is she married?
but i'm sure i'll think, that ring is pretty! :)

i only wear my wedding set on my wedding finger but i do have a thin plain band with no diamonds that i'll wear sometimes if i don't want to wear my wedding set, but still show that i'm married.

Thanks ladies, I think I will wear it sometimes. If I wear it on my right hand, I think it takes attention away from my wedding set.
I will wear it on my ring finger!!! Why not, who says diamonds represent marrage?

I wouldnt. but if i did i imagine DH would not be too happy.

i would like to see pics of your ring. It sounds gorgeous.. :D

edit: and yes i would think the wearer is not married.

Hi sjunky!

When I was pregnant with my last baby my fingers were SO swollen that I couldn't get my wedding band or ering even past my knuckle! I did end up wearing some of my cocktail rings on my ring finger since most of my cocktail rings are in larger sizes because I like to wear them on my middle and index finger and I felt bare without a ring on my finger. I have to admit that it was fun to change it up a bit but then my sweet DH re-set my ring and bought me a new wedding band to fit my swollen fingers that never have gone back to their original size! So now I just stick with that and wear my cocktail rings on my right hand. I think you should wear whatever you want on any finger you want as long as you love it! Life is too short to follow the "rules". :D

O yeah! I get bored really easy. This is cheaper than upgrading all the time. LOL. I want a cushion one day, then a RB, then a Radiant. I like fun colorfull rings right now. It is summer! I guess I am not traditional at all. :nuts:
