Yes, I do. The company that imports goods into the US is responsible for paying tariffsI wish I had a finance background. Do you think prices will increase on D&B items from overseas?
Congrats about your find. Yes, I think I won't look at the 401K for a bit.everything is going up except 401ksand the stock market..... I found a cutie on the second hand market. I'll post when it arrives. I'm excited for this Florentine beauty that's calling my name
Good advice. I am thinking of selling some bags that just sit. I get stressed when when my collection is too big. Perhaps the second hand market will do better with people trying to get bargains.Sound financial advice is to save our pennies, as the future economic situation
is uncertain (at best) and probably much more costly.
But the handbag collector in use makes us want to get those treasures at
what might be the best prices we will see for a while.
It's a constant struggle.
Somehow, shopping our closets isn't as much fun as buying new handbags.
But somewhere along the line, the stress factor of the economic chaos we
are seeing, will make the comfort of our closet seem really wonderful....
as long as we don't calculate the investment we made in those bags in the past.
Remember, you can't go back, but you can move forward and do things
differently (if that's what you choose).
Since Dooney is a private company, as customers, we have no visibility into
it's financial situation or organization. I've wondered over the past few years
how active Peter Dooney (and any of the 'older' members of the management
and design team) have remained. We can only judge by the products, prices,
marketing, and market placement (dept. stores, outlets, boutiques, online, etc.) we see.
I wish the company lots of success. And I'd be happy to buy more
Made in USA bags from Dooney. I have always valued these in my collection.
It's the heritage of a high quality product. But I'd rather see Dooney go there because
it's part of a sound strategy, versus as a reaction to economic chaos and
pressing financial issues.
Why isn't shopping our closet fun? It should be, we loved the items enough to make the purchase and bought them to wear. Yes, wear and not stare at them in our closet.Sound financial advice is to save our pennies, as the future economic situation
is uncertain (at best) and probably much more costly.
