I think I might be considering a preloved piece because it sounds like such bargain at quite a bit under retail, but I had never even considered that particular jewelry line before. (I'm not going to mention which line just to avoid positive/negative brand bias.)

I don't know for sure if my love of bargains is affecting my judgement... as in "I want this because it is such a good deal!" but I'll regret it later...

Or if this purchase is something that would expand my jewelry horizons.

I don't need it or have to have it, but it's been niggling in the back of brain for awhile.

So... how often do get something you liked and wound up loving? How often do you buy a "bargain" you wish you had passed up?

Can you give us a little more information? Is the piece your style of jewelry? Is it the same color metal that you usually wear?

I *love* a bargain too, but if you never wear it than it isn't really a bargain.

I bought a ring of a jewellery line that I was actually previously sure of that it wasn't my kind of thing because it was bargain-ish. well, turned out that it was NOT for me and I gave to my SIL. not an expensive lesson but I should trust my instinct.

other than jewellery I have many times gone for the bargain option only to find that I bought something only because it was cheap, not because I like it or wanted or needed it. however, I have also found the opposite, that a bargain turned into one of my most loved pieces. You never know until you try, although sometimes I am annoyed that I wasted too much money on this logic.

Thank you! Those questions are actually really helpful. The item in question is a bracelet and as I consider my answers... my style is eclectic, but tame. It would actually fit in with my other stuff as I love both yellow gold and white metals and tend to mix them, and I'd be able to wear it by itself or stacked.

I guess what I'm worried about is that last bolded part. I've been slowly clearing my jewelry box of other bracelets because I rarely wear any other than the 2 I wear constantly wear now. I *think* I would wear it often enough, but I'm not positive I love it enough its sake or if I'm being persuaded by the discount... and if I'm okay with having this piece that doesn't come out often...which is what is causing the hesitation.

Me, too! It gets me all the time.

I would only buy an item if I would be willing to have it at full price.
Less can sometimes be more.
While this piece might be a bargain imagine saving that money and applying that toward next thing that you fall in love with.

Such a tough question....i love a bargain too. I find that if the piece is in line with my usual style, i will wear it. Not so much if it deviates from the type of jewellery i usually wear..

Do u think u will regret it if u pass it up? If u feel u wont regret not having it, then maybe don't buy it.

Me too! If I wouldn't want it at full price I probably don't really want it. Unused bargains aren't bargains at all.

If you keep thinking about this bracelet, it sounds like you really do want it. If you got it and ended up deciding it really isn't love, would you be able to resell it and recoup all or most of your money?

I do....ALL the time lol. Especially with jewelry. I always think that even if I won't/don't wear it, it's an 'investment' LOL. My new excuse is that my baby girl will eventually inherit them hahaha

Good points ladies. When clothes shopping I usually ask myself if the bargain price were the full retail would I still want it? If no, I pass. I should probably apply that here. I do still have things on my wish list...
