Do you ever get in trouble with your SO overyour new purchases?

Well, I blew it w/my DH when I told him about my Kelly bag. He doesn't know about my new Fendi Spy. I try to be careful. I have some very nice bags, but I am only a physical therapist so I buy a lot of slightly used bags that still look very nice. He says it is my money, but I can tell he thinks I am nuts sometimes.

LOL! People I know get so mad at me because I just can't relate to this. My husband LOVES to shop and he loves to shop for me. He's just built that way. He wants me to have everything I want. Sometimes, even more than I want it! He calls boutiques and orders things that I ask for even, (while sitting in the hair salon waiting for me to get my hair done - he called and ordered my skull scarf from Alexander McQueen without me even knowing). He's just a great guy like that and I'm very very fortunate to have him!

But that's just the way we are together! When we travel, he has just as much fun shopping for himself at Gucci or Vuitton or wherever. I guess I married someone just as passionate about fashion and shopping as I am! Okay....you can start throwing things at me now...I'm done...
Print*model-- I don't want to throw things at you..I just want to ask your husband to offer online classes to train mine!!!

I think my bf just gave up on me spending money! lol

But I do think that saving some money is a bit important. Maybe you can just save a few.. and spend the rest ;)

I dont work...SO my hubby knows EVERY ITTY BITTY amount that I spend...which is soooooo not good!!!!!!!
He evil eyes EVERY new bag that comes into the house.I get back at him by educating my 9 year old daughter in fashion....she had a new tennis coach this week and the first thing she says to her coach is OMG..you have the new LUXE Chanel tote ..my mom has the black and LOVES IT!!she knew the brand and make and watching my hubby almost keel over when she said it was sooooooooooo FUNNY!!!Yes..There is an evil side to everyone....!HEE!HEE! LOL!

Reading that made me laugh so hard Jill!:P

My husband doesn't say very much thankfully, we're still struggling students and he is thrilled to see me saving money finally. I'm not sure how happy he will be when he sees what I was saving up for though.

My boyfriend usually finds a way to imply that I've spent too much money on a bag. I've simply learned to be more discreet about my purchases but he's still very observant...that's just the way he is (sigh). Either way it's my money so it doesn't affect him. I never hassle him about what he buys because I know how annoying it can be to be on the receiving end.

Nope. I earn it so I can spend it the way I want to. He might not like it but the only time he will say anything is when he sees I'm spending a little too much in so little time. He reminds me of my limit.

I got a kick out of reading all your posts! Very funny! As for me, I don't get into trouble because I am usually a bargain hunter and if I do make a large purchase, I justify it being that I am the sole breadwinner in the household right now. He actually lets me buy what I want and is pleased when I get a good deal and/or when I decide to sell some of my stuff, lol.

The poor dear thinks I should be SAVING ton put my money in some stuffy savings account for "blah blah blah .. future... blah blah blah .. retirement.... I always have to remind him that it is cruel and unusal punishment to keep my money locked up in some miserable prision , when it wants to be FREE!

Well, he's right, you know. It may be boring and stuffy but he's right.

If it's your money though, tough dookies for him. If it's your shared money, well then maybe he should have known that before he married you~!

Although my bf does not pay for any of my bags "yet," he always have comments to make whenever I mention about my new acquisitions. He always ask "You bought a new bag again?" How many bags do you own now? and the one that always pisses me off "Can you tell your school not to give you your degree coz you are a waster, and ppl getting their Ph.D.'s should not be wasters, coz first off, you still have your loans to pay off..." Of course, I just ignore and say, "So honey, I was thinking of buying you some golfing shirts and shorts, tell me which ones you like.." and by that time, he has forgotten about the bags.. so I am free again to shop.. lol lol.. One last thing though, because we are planning on getting an apartment together, he said, "Your bags are not allowed in my house..." and then I said, "they are mine and not yours so I am gonna bring them inside.. " and again, he just says, "I am the boss you know.." and I say, "but it's my stuff with my own money so back off fooh... "

Whatever happened to, "Fine, have fun by yourself masturbating to porno."

ahhahaha, I have never thought of that as a comeback.. gosh, I am learning here, I will write it down so next time we argue about my bags, I can respond with that line.. thanks...

Well you have to run with what he 'gives' you.

If he starts with the BOSS line, you have to come back with stuff like, "Well your company is about to go out of business," or "Guess who isn't workin' overtime."

Think Jeffersons circa 1977:

I dont think mine will ever really understand ... he would be happy with the same wardordrobe for years .. and a matress full of 10s and 20s he can sleep on like a dragon gaurding it's hoard !

LOL Sounds like my Dad and after 25 years of marriage my Mom says they don't change. :suspiciou

The good thing is that my hubby is a bigger spender than me. The KEY is taking him with me and showing him an okay item and then a really nice item and he always picks quality which is the one I wanted anyways!!!

However when it comes to his electronic purchases, which can get kind of pricey, I don't say a word!

You're telling me! My SO got a $500 Arcos mp3/video player thingy, then the regular iPod, then the iPod mini.

UH DO YOU REALLY NEED 3 GADGETS THAT DO THE SAME FREAKING THING?

Honey, if you're reading this, I'm totally kidding.

I guess it does benefit me, though, cuz since he has 3 gadgets that do the same freaking thing, he gave me his iPod. hehhehe

Thanks, babe.
