Do people have a certain handbag style or brand they identify with?

I recently learned more about high-end designers like Chanel and YSL, as well as their brand history and image. It makes me wonder if people have put thought into the handbags and brands they buy, and what message and style these items convey.

1. What style of handbags do you predominantly buy?
2. What brand of handbags do you predominantly buy?
3. What kind of image do you think your style and handbags portray?
4. What kind of message do you think your style and handbags convey? What do these things say about you?
5. What do you want people to see or learn about you from your style/handbags?

1. I have no brand loyalty whatsoever. My collection is a happy hodgepodge of Dooneys, Patricia Nash, Longchamp, Valentina Fiore, Divina Firenze, Coach, etc.

2. See above

3. “It’s that lady with all the nice purses.”

4. The message I convey is that I’m old enough to know what works for me, and look good doing it.

5. That I‘m supremely confident in who I am and not overly concerned with what others might think.

This seems like overthinking. I love handbags but i dont have the mental energy to devote to what messages they are sending to others, or what messages they convey about me. I know what styles look good on me and what colors i like and thats my thought process.

I see your point. I just started thinking of this because I was watching videos on the fashion houses like Dior, Chanel, and YSL.

I love your confidence!

My bag style matches my jewelry and clothing style: boring, which suits me just fine. I have an enormous cackle/laugh that can overwhelm my surroundings for miles around (I can't seem to temper it and tend to find EVERYTHING funny, which lets the whole world know exactly where I am at all times), so I rely on what I'm wearing to make myself as inconspicuous as possible.

I'm sure not "boring" but classic.

I'm a bit more dark-flamboyant (but not Goth).
Quieter/stealthy side of Gucci, the more dark-dramatic (sometimes Modernist) side of Hermes.

I guess Gucci reflects the artistic statement but also dark drama of Florence (it's birthplace) and Hermes is quintessentially very Parisian, I just like Paris by night more than the Frou-Frou of the day.

Gucci is the fun brand for me.
Hello, did you see Jared Leto recently?
Not as in your face as Versace but definitely louche.
And I love it.

1) No one style. I have a variety.
2) No brand loyalty at all - I have a variety.
3) Depends on which bag I'm carrying, as they would portray very different images.
4) Again, depends on which bag I'm carrying. The bags I carry to church is an entirely different style/message than the bags I carry most days. And even my work/run errands bag would have a variety of styles and messages.
5) I guess that I have an appropriate bag for any occasion... Maybe that I'm creative?

Wow, relatable! I am definitely the same. I feel like my personality is larger than life, so I don't feel the need to make my clothes "loud."

I am not one to research brand/product histories, though it may be interesting.
I buy & wear bec i like it, it's something unique , or elegant with a whimsical twist etc.
Other times it's cuz i feel fat & that makes me look nice.
Or it's hot n humid & that's the thinnest piece of clothes i own that's not sheer ;)
Oh i went onto a non designer tangent. Sorry
