Posted this in the AUTHENTICATE thread...but wanted to post it here too. This seller sent me the NASTIEST email back:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=120268413794

THIS LOOKS SO REAL BUT..............I WAS SUSPICIOUS BECAUSE IN THE DESCRIPTION IT SAYS CIRCA 1980's, BUT IT HAD AN F STAMP IN SQUARE. ASKED THE SELLER WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED, THEY SAID 1999!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT WOULD BE 3 YEARS BEFORE AN F STAMP BAG WAS MADE!!!!!!! CALLED THEM OUT ON IT AND GOT A NASTY EMAIL BACK. DON'T BUY THIS!!!!!!!!

I think the bag in the pics is real (including that nasty stain, ugh). The question is whether the bag in the pics is in the seller's possession. I think not.

oh, whew. i was going over it and trying to figure out exactly what was wrong with it that made it fake... :confused1: still learning how to authenticate Hermes bags! maybe the seller just doesn't know for sure how old the bag is? faulty memory of the bag owner?

oy....she has been sending me the RUDEST emails, calling me some nice names. one of the emails said that she in fact bought it in 2004, not 1999 as she first responded. she's 0 for 2, since an F stamp is 2002, and i can not imagine an ostrich kelly staying around in a store for that long! also, her description says "circa 1980's":confused1:

It would be a gorgeous bag if that water stain was gone! But what if it isn't water? It could be a bit smelly. hmmmmmm

nothing gorgeous about a bag that's fake, KWIM? and that bag would have had to been SITTING in water to create those stains. ostrich REPELS almost anything, i know this first hand!

I think the bag looks good as well...but the seller is another story entirely. I would give this a wide berth.
