My daughter and I each carry a Jet Set Tote; mine is black and hers is vanilla, with the light leather handles. The straps on both our bags are exactly the same light no-patina color they were when we bought them about 8 months ago. We've both carried our bag every day. So I would say they definitely do not patina at all. Hope that helps.
