Michael Kors Do I need a Sutton, or something else?

It's just about time for me to buy myself a present. I'm thinking a medium Sutton, but I'm not 100% sure.

I need something that wears pretty hard (I'm not super tough on bags, but not super good at babying them)
Largish, not completely awkward worn crossbody (I love the look of the Greenwich, but it looks weird cross body)

I think the Sutton fits the bill, but not sure. Is there anything that would keep you from getting one if you were me? Anything you would suggest in its place?

And because I think I know how this will go, where to get the best deal on one?

I own both. I personally don't like the medium or large sutton crossbody because it's really rigid and feels awkward. I usually wear the Greenwich crossbody when I cinched it in, but I wear it on the shoulders as a tote.

Well I just went and played with a Greenwich at tj maxx (first time I've ever seen mk bags there. Fun!) And it was beautiful, white and teal and perfect, but it's just awkward to me. I think the bottom is just too square.

They had some large Selma's that were gorgeous. I like that one a lot, but I want something more casual. The Selma is just too "nice" for me.

Lol...I have 4 Selmas and I sling them around like Walmart bags! I always have my hands full with drawings, coffee, laptop...I don't baby my Selmas at all. They take a beating pretty well.

I forget I'm carrying a "nice" bag until somebody stops and asks me about it. It holds a lot of stuff too! I just got the Greenwich too and I LOVE that bag! It's nice to have one that's softer and more pliable than the more rigid saffianos. It's lighter too!

No matter which bag you choose, you will be very happy! Then you will go get another one. Heehee

+2 !!

Oh I believe that are tough ladies, they just look very dressy to me. I'm a jeans and t shirt kind of girl when I'm not at work, and not stylish t shirts or anything. I'm casual bordering on sloppy. But I still like a nice handbag.

I'm going to be the dissenting opinion. Of the bags mentioned (Selma, Greenwich & Sutton), I found the Sutton to be the most comfortable carried crossbody. However, the shoulder strap pull when used. It looked and felt great carried crossbody but the concern for the straps where always in the back of my mind. I think you should go with your heart....:smile1:

I have a medium Sutton. Unfortunately, I found it was too small to hold my things. Plus the saffiano leather is softer than the Selma or Hamilton so my bag now looks a bit slouchy/wilted, which ruins its shape. The straps are also a problem because of their awkward placement on the bag and would likely cause damage to the bag in the long term.

The Sutton just didn't work for me.

This is useful information. Thank you. I'm feeling rather fickle. I was all set on some mk bag, then I spotted this amazing discontinued dooney satchel on eBay. Now I'm thinking maybe I need a new dooney. The casual stuff is really more appropriate for me.

Doesn't really matter that much right now since I can't buy anything at all till the end of January.. By then I'll probably want something else entirely.
