I have a beautiful 0.69 ct fixed setting white gold diamond necklace (below). However, I find myself wanting something more casual for summer, particularly the tiny Tiffany Peretti 0.10 ct DBTY below. Do you think these are different enough to own both? Bezel vs. invisible setting? Tiny versus medium? I also love collecting Peretti pieces:-) Thanks so much!

I disagree, totally different lol

My favorite necklace is my least expensive because it’s so low key on its own and layers great with others. While it’s not a DBTY, for me it functions the same.

I disagree too! I have both and they serve different purposes for me. My Roberto Coin equivalent of the DBTY (0.50 carat) feels much more lowkey casual and is great for layering with other necklaces and pendants. My prong set solitaire looks best worn on its own and is much bigger (a carat).

There's no denying that they are very similar in style but, the heart wants what the heart wants so if the tiny Tiffany is it and you love it after trying it on, perhaps you have your answer for a Summer necklace that feels right for you. And which can, of course, be worn year round, too.

I think it’s totally okay to have both, and do think bezel settings give off a more casual vibe. That being said, the bezel in your photo is a tiny bit too thick in relation to the diamond (in my humble opinion). I’d go up to the 0.17 size with the standard thinner bezel.

Perhaps I’m misunderstanding. Are the photos you posted the same necklace or different? The photo @Swanky posted is different enough. The 2 photos you posted look the same.
My apologies! The photos I posted were from a bad perspective. One is 0.10 ct with a bezel and one is 0.69 ct with an invisible setting. I hope this is better. Thanks!

That is so pretty! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you! Yes, I have been thinking about it all week:-) I will be visiting the store again ASAP.

I agree with @Swanky - consider a multi-stone DBTY, either floating or droplet. Could be worn separately or layered with your solitaire!
Wonderful idea! There’s a beautiful 3-station DBTY with teeny tiny diamond in sterling that would definitely fit the bill. I look forward to trying it on! Thank you!

Sound almost exactly how I would plan to use it if I purchased it. Glad I’m not the only one:-) Thank you!

Very good point! I’ll definitely try on the 0.17. Thank you!

The dbty is so recognizably Tiffanys. The setting is so unique and beautifully done. I’ve seen many copy cats but something is always off that gives it away that it is not Tiffanys. I do think this is a beautiful necklace. I have one that hasn’t seen the day of light for a while since I’ve purchased my VCA pave but I can’t seem to part with it.

It absolutely is so distinctive and elegant! I hope you bring yours out of its temporary hiding:-)

Well, I returned and decided and the 0.08 ct DBTY in platinum. Smaller than the silver 0.10 ct I tried on initially but with a much thinner bezel. Just the tiny sparkle I was looking for. Here it is compared with my invisible setting 0.69 ct and then wearing it. Thanks so much to everyone for your helpful input!

Love this one, definitely more difference between the two. I just love the twinkle of those small stones in a bezel setting. Enjoy your new DBTY!
