I’m kind of a Disney Nerd- probably a mix of having young children (7 and under) and growing up watching Disney movies. Roberto Coin has some beautiful Disney inspired pieces now. (Some direct designs from Frozen 2 and some Cinderella inspired). However I’m torn as to how I feel about these collections. I’m not sure if it’s worth the investment for expensive pieces. If they were $500 and under- makes sense. The majority of the collections reflect $1000 and way up. Would you invest in expensive Disney inspired pieces? Although I normally do no think this way but would you consider it more of a collectible with potential for value to rise? I’m in my late 30s btw and not sure how I would feel wearing an Anna inspired necklace at 45. Plus I’m pretty sure my hubby would think I’m insane! Thanks for your opinions!

Anna necklace I really like- sapphires and $2100

The collab is nicely 'vague' (can't think of a better word for now) and most pieces are not too cartoony or childlike. It would mean something Disney to you but probably not the casual onlooker, they'll just see a pretty piece of jewellery.

I have Roberto Coin but not x Disney. Disney seemed to have collaborated with so many recently.. You're basically paying for Roberto Coin and his jewellery is amazing, I hate to say it, but the collab is at the bottom end of his range and fairly affordable in comparison to most of his stuff.

If you like Disney but don't like the prices and it doesn't have to be Coin there are other designers, Gucci did a Grip watch and Disney do their own stuff. Saks have a sale on the previous Cinderella collection. Plenty of other Disney jewellery too.

If there was a Tinkerbell piece I'd think about it, someone DM me if it happens :D My sister bought me a 'silver' Tinkerbell for my birthday years and years ago. The SA had told her it was sterling, we were both disappointed that it was just metal.

Thank you for your input. I’m usually a Tiffany girl (younger silver but past 10 years most platinum/gold/diamonds) and own nothing Roberto Coin. I’ve seen his pieces at Nordstroms, Bloomingdales and Saks Off 5th. So this would be different for me to even consider. I have seen his stuff go on sale too. I don’t know if these pieces would go on sale though.

I would stay with Tiffany. Roberto Coin to me is not in the same league and it is brand name jewelry you get at mall stores.

Tiffany is a luxury brand in the same grouping as Cartier and VCA.

Also, it’s what look you aspire to project. For me, I prefer to look elegant and chic, so I would not purchase Disney jewelry. It’s like buying a platinum diamond Hello Kitty pendant. It’s cute, but I don’t want to look cute. To me, the pendant says “young”, not “elegant or chic”. I see it for someone in their early 20s.

You said you have Tiffany fine jewelry. I would rather take the money and get another Tiffany piece.

Just my two cents. Hope this helps with your decision.

Thank you for your input! Tiffany is truly wear my heart lies (although I do own some Van Cleef and Cartier as well). I really should skip it and save for a yellow diamond pendant that I have been pining for to match my ring or a larger DBTY pendant (my largest is .32- would like closer to .6) I get so easily distracted- lol! I still think Roberto Coin did an amazing job with much of the collection- in particular the $4500 Elsa necklace (I would never spend that- it’s mostly amethyst- no diamonds). If I were to see any of these pieces for a steal at Saks Off 5th I would consider as a fun piece to wear with the kids or when we go to Disney.

A yellow diamond pendant to match your ring would be gorgeous! I like to have two pieces that are a “set”. It’s makes a nice look and to me is very chic.

I am a huge Tiffany fan myself too! Like you, I am over the “beginner” silver pieces. However, I love Elsa Peretti’s iconic silver pieces. The clean yet sensual curves of those pieces are gorgeous. I get many compliments on them and they are timeless yet modern. I love wearing silver for summer. And she has fun turquoise in silver too.

I’m not sure if you are aware, but DBTY comes in a yellow diamond version too!

So many choices at Tiffany! I am always dreaming about my next piece and that’s half the fun.

Good luck shopping and deciding!

I have the Anna necklace from Roberto Coin, yes I wish the collection was cheaper, but honestly the price is on par with their non Disney pieces. It's great quality gold and stone, very sparkly in person and great for every day wear (most ppl don't know it's Disney). It is the only Disney necklace I actually wear since it's the only one that doesn't look like a toy (I have a few other fine Disney jewelry from various Asian 24k gold brands), I am in my early 30s and have 4 year old twins that calls me Anna when I wear the necklace lol. Roberto coin often goes on sale at around 20% off at Neiman or Saks.
