Discolouration on naplak/patent leather

Hello,
I'm considering buying a bag made of 'naplak' leather that the seller describes as having 'a small manufacturing defect', basically discolouration to the base. Since it's not a super visible part of the bag it might help me relax and actually enjoy using rather than babying it, but I'm also concerned that the discolouration might somehow grow?

So I guess my questions are, what do you think caused this issue, and is it likely to happen again/get worse? Bonus question would be is there a way to fix it but I'm doubtful.

Thanks!

I think it's nearly impossible to remove stains or color transfer from patent leather. Because of how it's more prominent on the edges... I'm wondering if there's some sort of glue and if it's oxidizing? If that's the case, it would eventually oxidize along the side edges of the bag as well, not just the bottom. That would be considered a manufacturing defect. I would not purchase it.
