Disappointing Dylan.... Thought?

Hey guys, what are your thoughts on the leather on the non-1941 Dylans?

I really wanted to get the spooky eye from the last Disney X coach collaboration but of course they sold out super quick... I was really excited to get my hands on one of the Dumbo dylans from this most recent spring collection because I love elephants and I love Dumbo.

I'm just not in love with the leather on this bag, I'm not sure if it's just the bag that I was sent in particular but it looks like all crinkled and lower quality than what I expected.

I'm a little bummed because the bag is cute. I guess I just had higher expectations.

I find the wrinkling on Dumbo particularly annoying.... Maybe I'm just being too nitpick?

I think its cute! That said, it's just my opinion that most of the Dylan bags are geared towards men & may get more wear & tear. Maybe that is a factor in the type of leather they chose.
I do think if you are used to the glove tanned 1941 leathers, this will seem like a compromise.
Again, JMO...

The bag is super cute, but dumbo upside down is what annoys me about it. I don’t get it. If you have doubts about it get another and see if it is better or wait for another version to come out.

I think it looks nice on you, and from the distance in the modelling shot nothing is noticeable. I agree that up close the wrinkling in the center of Dumbo's face and ears is not my favorite. The rest of the bag looks normal to me. If you can't return or exchange for the same model, or if you really don't like the fact that Dumbo is upside down, I think you should return it. I really like Coach and I think their QC is higher than *ahem* certain other brands, but not every bag is perfect, and in my experience they've always been accommodating about returns and exchanges. Please keep us updated!

I think that they may use leather that isn't quite as nice for smaller items and items with decoration that covers a lot of the leather, basically on things they think won't be at noticeable. The wrinkling on Dumbo might be caused by the application of the character. The back of the bag looks shopworn, which makes no sense since it hasn't been out long enough for that to happen. But it is adorable!

Yeah... I might take it to my local store and take a look at some of the other pieces in the collection .. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the replies!
