Disappointing Delivery of a Gorgeous Bag...

I was SO excited for my delivery from Nordstrom's via UPS today…but was immediately concerned when I saw the box all dented…

Took the large croc embossed SDJ out of the box and the front was ok…but the back is all dented :nogood: UPS may have mishandled the box….but really Nordstroms? ZERO padding or bubble wrap or even freaking newspaper for a $3600 bag?! It literally came in plastic overwrap with no form of protection around it at all. And NO dust bag either.

Really?!?!

I've always had great experience with Nordstroms…this just isn't ok though. Needless to say, I'm returning it to the store tomorrow.

So sad. The bag itself is gorgeous though. And I ordered from Nordstrom's for their great return policy and CS…*sigh*

I had a similar experience at Nordstrom when I ordered my Ferragamo handbag. Although my box wasn't damaged, the bag was carelessly thrown in - it had no stuffing and was thrown in a generic dustbag that was covered in dust and had also quite a lot of cardboard pieces from the box itself. Because the bag hadn't been stuffed, it had completely lost its shape and didn't look like a brand new bag by any stretch of imagination. When I took it in for an exchange the cs rep told me that sometimes when we order online, they pack the piece directly from the warehouse in whatever condition it's available in. But after hearing me out, she promised to call the store ahead of time to confirm they had a bag in impeccable condition before sending it out. My exchange was in great condition. It's a hassle to exchange but I am sure they will take care of it when you take it back.

The best thing to do with Nordstrom is to not order online, but to call a store an order over the phone. I say that because when you order online, they have people who go around the store to pick up items and send them out, but they're not part of the luxury business so they may not understand the importance of a luxury handbag. When you call the store, the handbag sales associates have more control over how the bag is stuffed and handled.

So sorry to see this. Sadly, they may put this bag back for sale and someone will get it. If it can make you feel better, here is the picture of smashed UPS box with Nina Ricci bag in delicate lamb skin, there was no protection and it had footprint on the dustbag, lock was broken. Also I received a smashed Anya Hindmarch bag from Saks (I guess the same happened to her). Gosh, at least retailers can mark it Fragile and use more rigid boxes for luxury items if they don't want to pay extra for packaging materials and more qualified packing stuff.

I have urged my SA so many times to protect and package the bags better as when making a nearly 4k investment - I don't expect it to arrive Damaged!!!
