I have been using the Diorshow brow pencil Universal shade for years. Dior has changed its colors. Similar ones are Brown, Dark brown and gray brown. Anyone done research to see which one is the closest match to Universal color? Thanks.

I've been using Diorshow Crayon Sourcils Poudre pencil for the best part of a decade, and 2 pencils ago Dior were said to have swapped 'Taupe' and 'Blonde' around, 'Taupe' reportedly into 'Blonde' and the old 'Blonde' into new 'Chestnut'. Basically I was Taupe and was recommended new 'Blonde'.

I believe Dior actually changed the colour of pencils - not just swapped. Despite reddish hair, my brows are very blonde, without any pencil or powder they are nearly invisible. What was 'Blonde' in ye old days was indeed more red-toned (so I can see what it was confusing) but it was not as bright as the new 'Chestnut'. The new 'blonde' has less yellow than the old 'Taupe' (yellow kinda equates to blonde). The new Blonde a bit too flat-grey for me and I have to fill with a powder to get a more natural colour (if I have time). The old 'Taupe' does not exist.

For the Styler, I'm guessing 'Universal' would be either close to 'Brown' or 'Grey-brown' but (sorry to say) may be not close to the original Universal. You may even have to mix a couple of pencils or fill-in with powder if you love the formula of the original.

@LemonDrop I used to use Universal as well as the original Taupe. I'm dark blond but my eyebrows are a drop lighter, and as @papertiger has succinctly described, some of the newer shades seemed too yellow (or green 😱). I found that NYX in Ash Brown is really the perfect light taupe/universal, if you are willing to try a dupe. Quality is the same as Dior imo. I purchase NYX n Ulta! Bonus: It's way cheaper
