ALEXANDER WANG created headlines and a reasonable number of fashion-industry complaints when he chose to host his show in Brooklyn this February, but it seems someone at Dior liked the idea. The brand will host its its spring/summer 2015 pre-collection show at the same venue as Wang - the Brooklyn Navy Yard - next month.
"We wanted the show to feel very New York, and the Navy Yard's view and space captures the city," a spokesperson for Dior told WWD. And, after many journalists and buyers registered their discomfort about having to journey to Brooklyn for Wang's show, the French label is prepared for any eventuality.
Dior will offer a round-trip, door-to-door car service for guests attending and - in keeping with the cruise theme and naval venue - a ferry service for those who desire it.
