I’ve been thinking about the Book Tote for some time - taking it on/off the wishlist (waiting to find a print I fell in love with). I’m at the point where I’ve found 2 prints I can’t stop thinking about but I’m torn between the Medium and Large size. For any book tote owners or admirers out there, which is your preferred size? I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this (no right or wrong answer…just trying to weigh my options ).

I was torn as well with both sizes but after trying them both on I found the Large was just too large and borderline a travel tote and I am 5'8 with shoulders like a linebacker. I ended up getting the medium size and its a great work bag (not for laptop though) but also not that big so I can take it elsewhere to wear too.

I use my medium totes for everyday, throw around bags. The large I may use for travel, but I bought it in a light color, so may not use it too often in fear of getting it dirty. I much prefer medium for everyday. I use them ALL THE TIME.

It actually depends on how you want to use it. I just recently was in the boutique and thought I would love the small size in the regular oblique. But when i tried it on, it was too small for what I intend to use it as. And i tried the large on and it was huge as I am only 5”2 :amuse: Also I did also change my mind on color ! :panic:.. do you have a store where you can try then out first?.. but So I do think the medium is a good everyday tote size. You know a bag you can throw everything in to go.

I love the look of the large but at this point have bought and returned/re-homed quite a few of them :whut: as they are just not practical for me (even for travel because if you use all the space it becomes super bulky/heavy and hard to carry even while perched on a suitcase). I find myself very content with several medium size that I rotate for work/travel. Plenty of room for laptop and essentials while still being a comfortable weight, and easier to fit under/around seats and in overhead bins while traveling. Highly recommend using a thin acrylic base shaper, regardless of the size. Let us know what you decide(d) to get!

My internal debate has been identical - I need to find a print I love in a size that works for everything. I finally found a print I liked a lot and the medium size is truly the best of both worlds. Having said that, when I carry my Dior medium book tote it holds my Dior oblique makeup pouch, a full size wallet, sunglass case and mini hair brush with not much room leftover to spare. I can put a bottled water in but it sticks out. Travel may require the large size book tote, so there could be an argument to own both sizes! :graucho:

Thank you all for the advice and feedback on the Medium vs Large dilemma! After A LOT of consideration, I went with the Large, as the color/print that I fell in love with was only available in the Large and I erred on the side of caution in terms of space (I’d rather have more than enough room for items vs needing a slightly bigger bag). So far, it’s been a great bag…but it is huge:lol: 71044653294__8B0DD864-C431-4C6E-9852-E3CC63C64EA7.jpeg

Does anyone here have the mini book tote with strap that's currently on the Dior website? Wondering if anyone has any mod shots with it, or can speak to experience using it everyday...
How did you go? Did you end up trying it on in store or buying it? I think if you like mini bags and also just want to fit the essentials for something quick and light then the mini book tote can work really well. I watched the YouTube on it and it does fit the essentials plus the adjustable detachable strap is great and the rolled type handles like the original book tote makes it much nicer than the flatter style one and without the strap.

I purchased it and returned it- I found it too small for my everyday essentials abd the fact that it was completely open I was afraid things would spill out, and for a few hundred dollars more I could get the small book tote size with strap and fit a whole lot more. The small looked nicer on my frame as well for some reason- I’m 5’2.
