Dilemma…. Cartier’s Panthere ring or VCA frivole ring?

Hi everyone!
Recently I have fallen in love with jewellery. DH wants to get me a ring as my birthday gift. I’m my torn and would love your views on them!
Photos to show how you wear the rings will be great!!
I had gone down to the store to try on the Panthere rings. They really do look a lot prettier irl than in photos
For Cartier, I have narrowed it down to the smaller full pave or half pave panthere ring. Having never worn any rings other than my wedding band & e-ring, I am also not sure how or which hand I should be wearing the panthere ring
As for VCA, the frivole between fingers ring looks beautiful in photo. However I haven’t had a chance to try it on.
Would love to see how you match these rings with! I am not usually fancy. But am at this phase where I have big love for jewellery. Starting very late and going to take it slow.
Currently I only have an e ring & band which I wear on my right hand, occasionally a watch and a 18 pointer tennis bracelet. Which ring should I pick? A happy dilemma!
Thank you all in advance!!

Oh this is a hard one. They are hard to compare as one is more feminine (Frivole) while the other is a bit more unconventional (and a tiny bit sexy - being the Panthere). I think it might be helpful to determine which is more your style (girly vs. a bit more unexpected). The one stand out to me about the Panthere line is that it isn't found everywhere. What I mean my this is almost every brand has a flower design in their collection but its much harder to find a panther which looks well done. To be honest, I loo ove both and while I like the frivole above, I think there is a lot of mirror finish on it and prefer the details on the Panthere (hello emerald eyes). I do love the full pave white gold frivole between the finger ring (its my favourite ring currently on the market as standard stock) but that one is a bit different than the one above in that it is full diamond. I get a bit concerned the mirror may show scratches more easily??? Between the two Id choose the pave panthere!

Thank you for your input! I have considered the scratches that the mirror may show on the frivole given that is not full diamond.
I am more of a girly girl. Normally, flowers or butterflies will make my heart sing. But there is something about the panthere that draws me to it. Which makes it so difficult to choose.

I totally understand! I switch between both styles so perhaps Im not a great person to give a solid stead fast answer. I agree - there is something about the Panthere which is so intriguing. If you think the frivole might suit your style better then you should see if you can get into the store. One thing I will suggest with between the finger VCA rings is that it really is best to go in for sizing. Even if your size isn't currently available I think it's best to chat with an SA as they can vary slightly in fit even though its VCA. The SA will perhaps have a different model which fits the same so at least you could determine your size for when the mirrored/pave version does come in your size. Keep in mind they can not be resized down the road so many choose to go one size up in order to accommodate size fluctuation or aging (if you plan to have this for the long run) and get the sizer additions added. Im excited to see what you choose!

The panther is a bit edgy but I always wonder how much it looks like a panther from the top (most often seen) view. Do you need to look more on the side to notice it's a panther and not just a diamond pave band?
In that case I feel like the flowers are more noticeable and look more different & therefore more interesting

I am still on the fence about both rings. They’re not singing to me as much as I thought they’ll be. Would love the full diamond frivole ring

I'm biased, I'm not particularly feminine or girly (or into flowers, butterflies, and hearts) and the Frivole line does not speak to me.

I've also realized I am more of a Cartier fan and I have considered the panthere ring as a thumb ring.

Just a thought:
For the Frivole, since it is a floral motif, if someone does not know VCA, they just probably think it's a beautiful flower ring.
While the Cartier panthere ring, is relatively more signature Cartier. (though I guess one could say the same about not knowing Cartier the brand and what the panther stands for, but between the two, I think that the Frivole look is less "brand-related" or more inconspicuous than the panthere ring.)

Might be best to save up for that one; either way don't get something that isn't singing to you
Yes, this. Don't get something that's kind of meh for you. It's a lot of money to spend on something that doesn't make your heart stop when you try it on.

If you got the panther ring, I would suggest wearing it on the opposite hand to your wedding rings as having that much bling on one hand is kind of a lot for everyday wear (imo). Also, I would wear it on my middle finger facing the index finger. That is a better visual balance in my eyes. That said though, while the panther ring is pretty, if your style is more girly and feminine, I'm not sure that one really vibes with your style. Large cats are a popular motif in tattoos and biker style jewelry, so in my eyes, the panther ring looks more rock-and-roll rather than feminine. Add the bling to the large cat image and it is VERY rock-and-roll. Cartier does embrace the edgy-meets-glamour vibe with all their hardware inspired jewelry, so if your style is more feminine than this, then I'm not convinced the panther ring is the best fit for you.

When do you think you'll be able to try on the VCAs? I kind of like the variety and interest of the white gold petals mixed with the diamonds rather than all-diamonds. The all-diamonds might look very, very dressy and sparkly for everyday wear. It would be less versatile than the one shown above. That one you can dress up or dress down. It would look good either way. All diamonds is just very dressy. Also, if it were all diamonds, it would have a lot more visual weight and would lose some of the delicacy that makes that piece so lovely and unique.

I think the one shown in the picture above is very pretty and would look feminine and interesting on the opposite hand of your wedding rings. Since you don't wear a lot of other jewelry, it would be a very interesting and signature look I would think. Try it on different fingers. I could see it looking amazing on either your ring finger or your middle finger.

Definitely go to the VCA store to try on that ring. Like the panther rings, you may find you like it better in person than in the photos. And speaking of photos, please take and post them if you do go to try on the Frivole!!

Are there other contenders besides these two?

I have yet tried on the Frivole. But I appreciate everyone’s input and suggestions. So sweet of you ladies ❤️
Think I might put the ring on hold although my heart is with Cartier. Just that this particular panthere doesn’t sing to me as much as I want it to.
Hopefully I will get to try on the Frivole soon! Thing is… DH is more of a Cartier fan while I love everything pretty!
I do want a ring which I can wear together with my tennis bracelet (20 pointer) + Cartier love (thin) and yet not look like I’ve too much things on me for a casual date night or meet up with girlfriends.
Would love to see how you ladies wear your jewellery! Do share!

I say go for the panthere. I just purchased mine today in YG, so my opinion might be a bit biased. Also I am more of a Cartier fan as oppose to Van Cleef, so there's also that to consider.

Price increase is taking place tomorrow April 18 here in Northern California, so I'd recommend pulling the trigger if you haven't done so already. Unsure where youre located but from my understanding the price increase is world wide. You can always return it if you change your mind but at least you wont have to pay the increase. For this piece I believe its about 2k with tax more post increase.

And even if you consider yourself to be more girly, I think the Panthere collection would be just fine with your style. Its a good classic piece.
