Hi all - I purchased a NWT angora flamenco (original anagram ver) from an ebay seller and am a little surprised by the feel of the leather? I have an old mini flamenco in rosemary that is smoother and more buttery in feel than this new bag. Did the anagram angora bags come in a different leather? Certificate card reads "100% Vacuno-Calf Skin" but I'm not sure if that's different from the nappa.

No other red flags aside from this textural difference. It's authenticity guaranteed per ebay and I'm using legitgrails to get another opinion

I have the angora, black and peach bloom(pink) colors. The first two were purchased from bergdorf Goodman and the peach bloom from fashionphile. I found the cert for the black one and it is vacuno calfskin as well. As far as texture, there is some natural hide variation but the dyeing process also has an impact on the texture and appearance. My black one is the softest and has the most sheen to it. The other two are definitely soft but feel slightly more rough than the black…as if the angora and pink bags were “treated” longer and with more paint in order for the lighter colors to take. Not sure if this helps, but I’ve attached a photo.

Thank you so much, this is very helpful! I did notice the lack of sheen on my angora compared to the rosemary. The leather doesn't feel any less maleable, just more textured and a bit dry(?) in comparison.

Also that peach bloom color is lovely 😍

Yes, exactly! it seems a bit dry in comparison to the black. Thank you!

I’ve experienced same leather feeling differently due to the dye of the color. Somehow different colors feel different? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can’t speak to the flamenco specifically, but I have the dice pocket bags in dark butter and peach bloom. I noticed after I got the dark butter (pale yellow) and then felt a classic tan dice pocket in store that the tan colour was much softer. Of course the hides will vary, so I figured maybe it’s just my bag. But when I picked up the peach bloom, it’s noticeably smoother and less dry than the dark butter. So that seems to tally with a theory that lighter colours require more treatment as mentioned above and can become rougher in texture as a result. It’s not significant enough to bother me tbh.

Ahh maybe that explains why the blacks are usuallysooo soft and smooshy.
