I wanted to get a piece of jewelry to celebrate a new job! I've been looking to switch jobs for a long time, and so I'm really happy to move onto a position that I think I will really enjoy, and away from my current job that had a lot of stress and drama.

So here are the pieces I was contemplating and here is what I ended up deciding. I'd love to hear if you guys think I made the right decision, or what you girls would have done.

So here is what I normally wear everyday. I do have some "fun" rings as well, but don't wear them every day. I should note that my Love bracelet is rose gold, although it's turned more yellow looking. I also have rose gold lever back earrings with a diamond rose design and diamond studs (2 earring holes). Sometimes I also wear a rose gold diamond feather pendant (not pictured).

Here is what I was contemplating. I originally wanted to spend in the range of $2k or so, but was ok with around $4k if I loooooved it, and it would also include bday and xmas.

1) 2.5 carat (0.7 ct center stone) 18k white gold rose design ring. $4,300 (probably could bring down a bit more). The pic below is the Tiffany one which is waaaay more expensive, but I don't have a photo of the one I was looking at. The one I was looking at isn't as large (Tiffany's is 3.5 ct I think), and not as many petals. Definitely a showstopper dramatic piece...but not something I can wear everyday. The circumference is well larger than the width of the finger I planned to wear it on. Hubby thinks it's too over the top.

2) Diamond and sapphire bracelet $2,600 (Also not this exact piece because I didn't take photos from the jeweler...I think the stones in this photo are larger than the one I was looking at...I think the bracelet I was looking at was 2.5-3.0 ct total weight)

3) Louis Vuitton Idylles 3 gold bracelet $4,100 Was actually delicate enough looking to stack along with my Love and diamond tennis bracelet, but not sure if it looks too "busy.' It is smaller than the gold monogram LV bracelet, and I like that it only has the flowers and not the monogram.

4) Two rings: Tricolor gold and diamond ring (fused but looks stacked; $1,000), and a custom solid rose gold rose ring.

This ring but in rose gold: ($1,080)

I chose option 4, the two rings since I felt like I already had a lot of bracelets, and it might look too "busy"...although I could always switch a piece out. I decided on the rings to add more variety. If I wear the rose gold roses ring on my middle right finger, I could wear the tricolor ring on my left index finger. The rose gold ring will take 2 months to custom order and make.

What do you guys think? What would you have done?

I think you made a great choice! Beautiful and versatile. Congrats on the new job, too!

I think you made a great choice! Before even reading which option you choose, I immediately deemed option 4 as my favorite. The tricolor ring is stunning and could be worn every day, any time with any outfit. I have a soft spot for roses (it seems you have a thing for flowers too) although I would have only chosen the tricolor ring. The rose ring seems a bit costume-y although it is gorgeous. I'm a total cheapie if I know I won't wear something every day and that could be my bias but I feel like you could get something similar in costume jewelry.

The most important thing is that you love it! If you get the wear out of it that you wished then you made the perfect choice!

Congratulations on your new job as well!

Congrats on the new job! I could have written your first sentence exactly as I just went through the same thing. Got a new job because my old one was so stressful. I was going to buy myself a nicer gift too but settled on a bunch of new clothes, shoes and a pandora purchase instead. But I think you made the right decision. The bracelets are really nice, but I think since you already have a arm full, the rings will be a nice "finishing" touch so to speak. Enjoy! :smile1:

I think you absolutely made the best choice! I picked #4 for you before I read your choice...gorgeous, and the best value for your $ with these unique pieces. Wear in good health!

Wow I'm so surprised everyone has picked option 4 too!! Was expecting some to go with the dramatic diamond ring, or the LV bracelet.

Thanks everyone!! I'm excited about the new job too!

Thanks so much!! My soft spot for roses didn't seem so obvious until I read your post, although I guess it should have been!! The roses ring (the solid gold one) is handmade by Jenny Kim on Etsy, a lot of ladies on tPF have pieces from her...she makes each one individually with no wax molds reused. I'm hoping it will be turn out well! I also have small ring sizes, so costume pieces usually are too big for me :crybaby:
