Diamond Stud Earrring Price Advice

They rip you off on cruises from what I hear.

Go online.

I got a wonderful diamond ring from bluenile.com and they are very safe and reputable. I got my earrings (about 2 cttw) from whiteflash.com and you can get a wonderful deal there. Look at their website and call them and ask to talk to Katie Homuth. I got H VS2 for $10,000 --in your price range you can get something even more spectacular.

A good place to get advice is Pricescope.com, you can ask for advice or just research 'diamond stud earrings' there.

I am considering purchasing from an online site diamond studs totaling 1.12 TCW set in platinum, color G, Ideal cut , VS1. The price is $3,500. Does anyone know if this is a good price? Thanks.

Check out Goodoldgold.com also. You can do a pretty extensive search there also. And if you don't find exactly what you want online, call them and they can find exactly what you want.

I think it sounds about right. My pair is 1 cttw, H color, VS1, ideal cut, set in platinum, and it was 2.5k. I highly recommend Bluenile as well! You might be able to find the same specs for cheaper as they don't do a lot of markup.

Hi LizzieBennett, exciting to be looking for diamond earrings!

Have you got your heart set on purchasing with BlueNile?

Did you get a chance to look at any of the other online vendors..They may also be able to help you.

http://goodoldgold was mentioned earlier in this thread. Jonathon is a fantastic vendor!

Did they give you an Idealscope image or an Aset of the diamonds you are enquiring about? This will help determine whether the stones are leaking any light and thus provide you with a measure of their cut quality.

Even if the seller is purported to be reputable you still want to be safe and make sure your diamonds are certified by GIA. This also enables you to insure them if you so desire.

Hi everyone! Broke up with the boyfriend, so I went to Bailey Banks & Biddle to trade in a diamond necklace he had gotten for me for some less depressing diamond stud earrings! They are:

-platinum martini setting
-.75 ct total weight
-vs1-vs2 clarity
-g-h color
-GIA cert

retail was 3750 (but i know they mark these things up...), but i ended up getting it down to 2250..is this a fair price for them?

I have 30 days to change my mind!

thanks in advance =)

Yes, you overpaid.
1. Setting - BlueNile sells platinum earring setting for $360.
2. diamonds - Under $1,000. If they are the perfect hearts & Arrows diamonds type that are used for rings, then the price is about $1,500.
To find out the typical price of loose diamonds, do a search on bluenile.com, pricescope.com, and other online diamond websites. What you did not mention is the cut, which is the most important of the 4 C's. Given the fact that these are earrings and not daimond rings, the cut must be between good and very good. Even if excellent GIA cut or ideal AGS cut, the light performance may not be perfect hearts and arrows type. Therefore, I guess they are worth about $1,000 maximum. If top of the line perfect hearts and arrow (excellent light return, fire, and scintillation), the price should be around $1,500.
