Did Chanel have employee sales in the 1980's?

Hello TPFers,

I was going through eBay as one does and came across this bag:

The description says this:

This vintage CHANEL handbag is of smooth and quilted lambskin leather, with a quilted top, gusset sides and quilted bands at the front and back for detailing. All are set against a smooth leather front and back. It is of quilted and smooth metallic gray-green colored lambskin leather, muted in tone, and has a smooth finish. This bag has gold-toned hardware with “CC” logos at the ends of the leather entwined gold-tone chain. This leather and chain strap is a long single strap for a long shoulder bag or cross-body bag. This bag is a firm structured bag, angled in shape, and is constructed with the classic top flap with magnetic closure, which is centered on the bottom of this flap. The flap is smooth, with a partially quilted lower band for detail. The back is smooth, with a smooth leather pocket which is partially quilted with a lower band for detail. This bag has the top flap lined in matching metallic leather, and a smooth black leather interior. This top flap opens to reveal one interior zippered pocket, with a “CC” logo zipper pull. The sides and bottom of this bag are set-in gussets, with the sides being fully quilted and the bottom of smooth, non-quilted leather. There are no interior CHANEL gold stamped markings, which is curious, but could be explained; as this bag was purchased by a CHANEL employee in the 1980’s, at an employee sale. It might possibly have been a runway or photography sample.

Does anyone know anything more about this?

Note just to clarify, this is not an "authenticate this request" although it may overlap a bit because inevitably its a question about the history behind the bag and thus verification, but as a genuine vintage chanel fan I'm about the history of whether Chanel did used to do employee sales and whether anyone else has come across something similar before?
